Pregnancy tests do not claim to be 100% accurate. I would not depend on them.

As to UTI's I've had many and have not missed a period as a result

I understand your curiosity but the only way that you'll know if you're pregnant is to have a pregnancy test at a medical office. Let me see if I understand your timing. Your last period was December 31st. It's now February 16. You've missed one period. It's been perhaps 6 weeks since the possibility of pregnancy. I'd wait until you've missed 2 periods before trying another pregnancy test, at home or at the doctors.

Anxiety can also cause missed periods. Relax and enjoy the possibility. If you're not pregnant this month you will be eventually. (unless, perhaps you've been facing infertility) IF so I apologize for my abruptness. I know the excitement you must be feeling and the disappointment you expect if you're not pregnant. I'm just suggesting that it may be too early to know anything.

I'm not sure if a UTI can cause you to miss your period, but I know that stress can. Happens to me all the time (stress). I also know that you can get a false neg. on those home pregnancy ones. I would suggest you go to your doc and have them do a blood test to check and see if you are pregnant.

If you've missed a period, it's a good idea to talk with your OB/GYN. There are many reasons for missed periods and the best way to find out what is going on is to talk to and / or see your doctor.

No, a UTI should not affect your period. I can probably count on two hands the amount of times I have had a UTI and I never missed a period in any of those ocassions. Stress, as well as extreme dieting can cause you to miss your period. A co-worker of mine didn't get her period for 3 months and she thought she was pregnant, but weighing 95 pounds, the doctor said she was severely underweight and when he asked her about her diet, he almost fainted when he heard she eats the equivalent of about a saucerplate of lettuce and no protein. He had to put her on hormones and also was told to eat more, so this could be your problem too. Have you tried more than one pregnancy test? Sometimes, they can be faulty or misinterpreted, even unclear. I'd start by going to the ob/gyn, and having them diagnose you.

I haven't had a period since December 4, but I am not pregnant. I went to the doctor on Friday and she expressed concern due to several other factors; i.e. weight gain, mood changes. I am currently being tested for a thyroid problem and being checked for PCOS. I would strongly urge you to go to your ob/gyn asap and get his/her opinion.

I've had UTI's and I don't recall missing a period, but I suppose you never know. I did get two false negatives though with my second pregnancy, so I know that's possible. I also had what I thought was a period when I was pregnant with my daughter and was 3 months pregnant before I knew. So weird things happen. I would definitely suggest you go the gyn and tell them what's going on.

I would go to the doctors and get a blood test. When I was pregnant with my first child I did a normal test at the doctors office, but it came back negative. I was positive I was pregnant, so the doctor told me to come back the next week if I still feel the same way. A week later she took a blood test got the results a day or two later and I was pregnant. Sometimes those over the counter tests don't always work. Go see your OB/Gyn.
Good Luck
