Upscale Children's Consignment Store

Anyone know of any upscale children's consignment stores?
I have a clothes addiction for my 3 daughters that is out of control. I can't stay out of boutiques and we have tons of barely used, some even brand new, european high end brand name clothes (catimini, oilily, mim pi, etc. etc.) I am very good at buying on ebay also.. but I can't find the time to actually sell on there. I have bins upon bins of shoes and clothes in every size for every season up to 6 so far. I need to reclaim what little storage we have in this house! So I'm looking for somewhere a little more upscale than Once Upon a Child and true thrift stores to sell and possibly buy more (for just my oldest!!) if such a place exists? Location doesn't matter to me.
Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the great responses. I will check them all out and sell...and probably buy some more for a bargain! For those who were wondering, I use the terms "out of control" and "addiction" loosely... no, we are not in financial trouble or in any kind of debt or anywhere near bankruptcy. I just love cute clothes and I don't have any more room to store all of them anymore or I probably wouldn't even sell them!
Thanks again!

I belong to a group called Step by Step PTA which holds a resale in September and March each year at the DuPage County Fairgrounds. (Two other groups hold resales the same day at the fairgrounds, but ours has free admission.) You don't have to be a member to sell. We may have enough sellers for our Sept. 13th sale, but check the info on our website to see if it's closed for sellers yet - http://www.stepbysteppta.com. It's not specific to upscale items, but the merchandise is good quality as we don't take any damaged clothes, toys or equipment (strollers, high chairs, cribs, etc.)

The Second Child on Armitage in chicago's old town neighborhood sounds like what you're looking for. I hear there's a children's resale shop in Wheeling, but i don't know whether or not it's only upscale.

Hi E.,
You just missed an upscale resale in Wheaton called Best Brands Resale. I go to this resale twice a year (once for spring/summer and the other for fall/winter). Their website is: www.bestbrandsresale.com if you would like more information, but it is exactly what you are looking for: a resale that caters to moms who are into the upscale brands for their kids. They will even tag for you for a fee if you are too busy. I spoke with one of the organizers and she told me the next sale is in March. I am definitely planning on selling then because I myself have some upscale clothing of my kids that they have outgrown and in addition, you can get pre-shop privileges.

There is another upscale resale coming up but it is in the North suburbs (Libertyville) called Posh Tots Resale. Their website is http://www.poshtotsresale.com/index.html. I have never been to this one, however I will probably check it out. They will also tag for you too, however it looks like you will get less back from your items sold if you choose that route.

I hope this helps and good luck!

My Sister's Closet on Devon in Edgebrook (Chicago. But the only in Lincoln Park I've heard has very nice things too. You'll want to compare their policies, some only accept at certain times of year, brand, quality and date(style) of clothing.
Good luck

Thanks for asking this question. I live near Naperville and now I know where to get some nice clothes. I noticed that you said that the buying was out of control and not that your finances were in jeopardy, so hopefully you just like to shop and are able to financially do it. I love to shop. It's like therapy, but sometimes I think I could put the money somewhere else (like a bigger home or fancy luxury car instead of a Caravan), but then when I think about getting therapy I figure... I could pay some therapist $100 plus dollars to talk to, or I could go shopping and spend $100 and I've gotten my fix. Good Luck cleaning the closets. I know it's easier to get rid of items if you feel that you are getting some money back. Congrats on the new addition.

Friends of Portage Park is doing a kids sale in Nov. at the Portage Park middle school. Like a big indoor yard sale. I believe it is $25 to rent a space. Let me know if you are interested. I don't have the details at my finger tips.

Visit www.kidscloset.biz and click on the Joliet/Orland Park link for details. Consignors make 70% of their selling price and get to shop before the public! The Spring sale will be April 30-May 1, 2010 at the Orland Park Civic Center. It's a great way to make $$ and clean out those closets! Plus you can buy clothes, toys, books, bikes and more for less than retail.
