Hi mamas,
I posted Saturday about my son getting in a fight at school and of course there always has to be the occasional rude comments and what not but all in all I got positive answers ( which I needed and really did help my spirit) so I wanted to say thank you! We had a talk with his school today and we watched the security cameras that just so happened to get it all. As I said in my other post, my son was where he was supposed to be and the other kid had left school property, saw my son and came back on the property to start the fight. He threw the first punch and it went to hell after that. My son is healing up and will not have to face serious consequences due to how it all came out. For the comments of, you need to stop thinking your kid is perfect and blah blah, Umm yeah! I DO know my baby and yes! He is my baby!
So for my required question....
who else has a baby with a birthday tomorrow?? My son turns 16 tomorrow and im still trying to figure out where the time has gone! Happy birthday nick! And happy birthday to all the other sept 18th birthdays!!!

There still isn't a detective assigned to the case yet so as soon as they do I will have him review it and then I will re update :) I changed my profile to a pic of him and me. Love the mess out of that kid and im grateful for you mamas too
I'm glad it all worked out in the end. I remember when I went through a similar experience about 10 yrs ago and it was a nightmare. I literly took my daughter out of school for the second semester of 8th grade because the school was making so many accusations about her and she did nothing.
Oh my gosh H., I am soooooooo sorry about all this! I went and read your first post about the fight - don't know why I didn't see it on Saturday. I would be devastated if this happened to my son! I can't even imagine how you felt seeing all the cop cars and then seeing your son!! My heart goes out to you guys!! I'd probably be hugging him a little tighter than usual and just praying he's ok.
As for my "baby" - he turns 18 next Wednesday!! And my other "baby" - she just turned 15 last Thursday!! They'll always be my babies!!
I can still remember my Daddy introducing me to someone a few years ago - he said "and this is our baby" .... I was in my late 40's!! lol!!! Some things never change!!

Sweetie, I've been hoping you would update us. I am SO glad that there was a video there so that your son could be exonerated 100%. What I am wondering is if you filed charges against this kid with the police? Did you find out from an attorney how it would play out in court if you file?
I am so happy you are celebrating his birthday at home (not in the hospital), but so sorry that his birthday is marred with pain and bad memories. Don't be surprised if he has nightmares in the coming weeks or months. It would be entirely normal.

I am SO sorry this happened to your son and your family! So glad there was video because this day in age fighting is looked so down upon it even seems self defense doesn't matter. Hopefully the other kid will get just and firm enough consequences he will think twice about pulling this on anyone! All the best, wish you peace and healing!
Glad that your son's innocence has been confirmed! And of course, he's still your baby - he will be your baby when he's 90!
My sister has a birthday today but we haven't spoken for many years BUT my GRANDSON turned 16 on 9/13! If you think it's amazing to have a child who's 16, try having a grandchild who is 16! Where have all the years gone?!!
Thank you for the update. You & your son have been on my mind. The picture that entered my head with your description was etched in my brain. I kept putting my own son's face on it. I can only imagine how you felt seeing your baby that way. And, oh yeah girl, my sons are my babies too! I'm glad things came to light the way it did but I am sorry your son had to deal with that.

Holy cow, that is one handsome boy! Thanks for the update. I didn't read your original post until now. I'm glad this thing is getting sorted out, and that your son will be able to prove that he didn't start the fight.

Thanks for the update, I had been thinking of you today hoping you would let us know how things went. I hope the kid that started this with your son, has serious consequences to pay. Dont listen to the negative nellys, some people jus they are so perfect. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to NICK, hope he is feeling well enough to celebrate and enjoy!

happy birthday. i hope the kid who did this gets serious consequences. Did your son ever say if he had problems with this boy or bullied this boy in the past? Obviously the boy was wrong either way but it seems like he gunned for your son. Maybe there is a reason (no matter how wrong it is) you said the kid was a "punk kid" I'm not sure if that meant he dressed that way or was a punk. I hung out with the kids who were "punks and goth" and every once in a while one did fly off the handle and go after a "jock" who picked on them for years.
Again he would be wrong even if he did, but if I was you I'd want to make sure my son wasnt responsbile for bullying the kid as well.
Again I'm not condoning the incident even if your son did bully him....i'd J. want to make sure there wasnt a lesson my son should be learning as well.
