Called my mom this morning -- no emails, grrr! Told her that my husband really wants to be there to celebrate their 45th with the family and that my brother and I have no problem keeping the kids busy if we indeed have to wait for a table. Also told her that my brother really wants my husband there, too. She was open to all of this; seems my dad had taken over the reservation and she was just the messenger. She said that she agreed and would speak to my dad. She just called and asked what would be a good time; I responded 5 or 5:15 would be wonderful. Problem solved! 5:15 it is. I should have known this was all my dad, actually; sometimes he just doesn't think things out :) THANKS EVERYONE WHO RESPONDED!
Added: Well, no, the restaurant still doesn't take reservations, but it's early enough that they don't think it will be a problem to seat us rather quickly. This probably was a little hard for my dad to do; I mean this is the guy who used to make sure we arrived at church 45 minutes before Mass would start ... just so we could find a seat toward the back of the empty church -- haha!
