L.C.
Thank you for the update. I will keep this little boy and all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
I know that updates are supposed to go into the 'so what happened' box... But I have had several PMs asking about the status of my cousin's 2yo son who was kicked by the horse and figured it would be easier all around to make a new post...
He came through his surgery fine. They replaced the bones in his skull where they were supposed to be, and put a metal plate in. The next step was to wait for the swelling to go down, and go from there. There hasn't been any improvement since, so today they did an EEG and an MRI for further information. They found that he has small tears in the lower part of his brain, which are affecting his cognitive skills. (Which is apparently what is keeping him from waking up) He IS taking a few breaths on his own, and they are hopeful that they can take him off the respirator sometime this week. Another good sign is that his spine has no injury. (Whew.) Things are still incredibly iffy for him, and he is still in critical condition, but he is better than he was.
As far as my actual question, it kind of solved itself. His dad messaged me on Facebook, and we chatted for a few minutes. He asked me to be the 'alertist' to update Facebook on the situation... So we have been chatting a little when he gives me updates.
So, for the obligatory question... Will those of you who believe in prayer continue to keep this little guy in mind? He still needs all the help he can get.
Thank you for the update. I will keep this little boy and all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
I am sooo sorry M.!! Healing Prayers are coming your way!!
I am sending him healing thoughts and strength. And to the rest of you, positive energy and positive thoughts.
Thank you for he updates, I have been thinking of all of you since your original post.
I was wondering about you guys too. We'll keep your family in our prayers.
M., thanks for the update. Bless that child's heart, and the families. So hard!
If you want to put together a group of folks to help the child's family, try going to Lotsahelpinghands.com. You can invite people who you want to update like in FB, but there's an added benefit because the site has a calendar that people can sign up on to help the family, like for bringing food, helping with chores or running errands or babysitting. You can manage this even if you are not near the family, if you have a list of people's names and email addresses who are close to the family. If you have the time to manage the volunteers, it would be very helpful to the family.
Thinking of you all...
Continuing to pray for this lil fighter and his/your family.
