**Important Update**

A police officer came and took a report, and my immediate suspicions were completely WRONG. Yes, I am admitting that I was completely incorrect in assuming the accident TUE night was connected to the WED morning discovery. The police officer looked up the report filed and informed me that the car involved with accident was a black BMW SUV. The paint markings on the back of our car are clearly light, almost white. The police officer stated that the dent on my car and bumper was too high for the other vehicle involved. Which then I remembered, that the real reason I even noticed our car was that the WED morning pick up of our garbage and recycling bins were all haphazardly replaced behind our car, which I had never seen them placed so. When I told the police officer that it had indeed been trash day, she recognized the dent as a rather common problem with the automatic arms from the dump trucks.

What are the odds, eh? Of such an untimely accident being a coincidence? This is such a classic case of of playing judge and jury before the trial.

So, thanks to all of you for your time and my sincere apologies as well for not just calling the police and letting them put the pieces together. And my apologies to the lawyers too :)

My question then:

Have you ever been so totally wrong???

What can I do next?

Everyone is wrong at times!

That's why it's always best (and you did the right thing) by stepping to the level of authority that can BEST decide/help put together the facts!

I have more estrogen than testosterone ... I do not think I am allowed to admit to that (being wrong). You were not wrong you simply jumped to conclusions and that is simply an error of judgement, you were not wrong ;)

I'm sooo glad you called the police and they got it straightened out.

I've been wrong about people and some situations. That's why I try really hard NOT to assume anything anymore....you know? like I post...when you assume you make an a$$ out of u and me?

I think it's WONDERFUL that you admitted you were wrong! that takes a LOT! YOU ROCK MAMA!!!

Hello,

I will jump in there and eat humble pie with you. Yes, I have been totally wrong before. In short:

I was running late. I was at a client's house. My truckbed was uncovered. I had a nice set of golf clubs, that I forgot I had in there in the first place. I came out after our meeting and suddenly remembered the game just prior to my meeting. One of my client's was a police officer. I went back to the house and shamefully admitted that I think my husban's gold clubs were taken from the back of my truck. The police officer/client, walked out to the sidewalk, and and said with all the confidence I could imagine "Nope it didn't happen like that." Call your husband and see if he might have removed them before you left. I did as requested, and sure enough he had removed them unbeknownst to me (thanks so much honey) to ensure their safety. The offier grinned and said "You see, (taking my hand and walking me to the sidewalk) you would have to be well over six feet tall to have a chance of seeing the golf clubs from the sidewalk and you would have to almost walk up on the truck to see that there were clubs in there, There is no reason that they would come looking for clubs.

I learned not to jump to "obvious conclusions" :-) Color me embarassed!

Thank you for the update.

T.
