Hello friends, I posted about 2 weeks back that I thought my DD3 was showing signs of celiacs (here's the post if you'd like to read about it http://www.mamapedia.com/questions/16990679978083483649) well now i have another worry. She often has undigested food like hotdogs bits, lentils, broccolli, peas, carrots and many other stuff show up in her diaper. Is this normal? i worry that she is not absorbing important nutrients. I appreciate any feedback, thank you!!

What can I do next?

Well the peas, carrots, and lentils all sound normal. The hotdogs and broccoli are a bit of surprise, but still don't sound abnormal to me. I would bet she maybe isn't chewing them, especially the hot dog bits. She probably just gives it a quick chew and swallows it. If you think it happens with half or more of the things she eats I would probably check in with the pediatrician but if it's less I'd probably just roll with it for a while and see what happens.

I have read that when you have certain foods that are being pooped out undigested, it is one of the signs that you have intollerance issues with that food. I can't remember the source of this information and can't vouch for how reliable it may be, but it's certainly something you may want to look into.

Some of it is normal and some of it isn't . I'd call your pediatrician (he can order tests) or ask for a Pediatric GI Dr. C. S.

While I would say that you can ALWAYS call your ped's office and discuss with a nurse, I also know that I used to find all kids of treasures in the diapers!
Once I was so freaked out by my son's weird, pinkish bm that I was in total panic mode until I realized that he had been hi-jacking his pap's grapefruit for breakfast every morning!
