D..
Sounds like she's coming down with something. Maybe the extra rest will help prevent her from getting really sick. If she just drags for a few days, let her rest. If it seems like more, get her to the doc.
Good luck to you both!!

2.5 year old naps about 2-3 hours in the afternoon. She does not have a fever, but asked to go to bed at 10:00 and slept till 11:15, asked for her regular nap at 1:00, slept an hour and is now asking to go back to bed at 4:30. If she was clearly sick, I wouldn't bother asking, but aside from wanting to nap all day she seems fine. Should I worry?

Don't we all have days that we are more tired then others? It could be that she is feeling under the weather but just napping one day isn't reason for concern.
either she is growing or getting sick.. bet you will know in a couple of days if she is sick.. bet you will know in a couple of weeks if she is growing..
In my experience as a mom of two, it means one of two things:
1. She's coming down with something
2. She's having a growth spurt
Let's hope it's No. 2!
Never look a gift horse in the mouth! Lol, take a nap yourself.
I bet she's hit a growth spurt. You can usually attribute changes in sleeping and eating habits to that.
In two weeks, she will be noticeably taller I will bet:)
You know, sometimes kids are just plain tired. I would not think she is coming down something, unless she has a symptom of that.
**Yes, she could be preparing or going through a growth spurt.
My son always napped a lot more when he was growing fast.
Some days he actually seemed taller after his nap time.
When he was napping at preschool even some of his teachers said they almost felt they were watching him grow right before their eyes.
It sounds like she is on track to have her normal amount of nap time. She just split it up today. I wouldn't worry but she could be coming down with something.
My 2 year old was doing the same, around Christmas. I thought , he was just extra tired, due to the holiday activities. The kid grew a ton , the next couple weeks. Everyone noticed his " almost overnight" height difference. It was crazy.
She really is not napping any more than usual, just a different sequence.
Could be getting sick or going through a growth spurt. My 4 year old son slept for a week when he had the croup (he was sleeping more than awake), it was a good thing for him, he healed and didn't seem super sick. I can also always tell when he is going through a growth spurt, he eats like crazy and sleeps about 12 hours a night (usually 10), and sometimes also has a nap, and he never naps. Don't worry about it.
I agree with the other posts. Either she's coming down with something or she's experiencing a growth spurt.
My son, since he was a baby, was a regular napper.
AND yes, he'd even tell ME... when he was tired and wanted to nap.
And I would let him.
He'd even go to his bed and start to tuck himself in.
Because, he KNEW himself.
And I was glad.
And it did not, affect his ability to sleep at night.
And when he was hitting a growth spurt, he napped more... and longer.
And needed it.
A few times even, he'd nap in the later afternoon... and sleep... and he'd sleep for 14 hours straight till the next day. I did not, wake him at all. And the next day he was fine. And then it was like he grew overnight.
My daughter was a napper too.
And when she was especially tired or growing, even she would say she is tired and "I want to take a nap..." and she would.
No battles with either of my kids, per naps.
Please try not to overthink this one. Enjoy your extra time!
