Two Potential Health Concerns with My Toddler

My son's 2.5 yr check up will be coming up shortly. There are two things I'm concerned about: He snores really loudly (like a little lumberjack) and he seems to have heartburn after he eats. He tells me that his tummy is hot and he kind of winces and holds his tummy. When I give him milk he tells me he feels better. Can anyone shed some light on this?? My older two kids had neither of these issues.

What can I do next?

Both conditions are related. You need to get him to the doctor with some backup information so it isn't ignored. Stomach troubles can come from breathing problems and the other way around as well.

Document what happens. He's cooled out with milk so maybe that is something to give him 15 minutes after he's eaten. Is it dinner or any meal. Does it also happen after breakfast. Keep track of what he's eaten before he complains.

Aww poor dude! Definitely sounds like heartburn, I'd mention it for sure. Ditto with the snoring, could be a deviated septum... hope it goes well and he feels better soon!

I'm almost positive you can give him 1 TUMS, but check with his doc.

He might have acid reflux and the doctor can help you with that. The snoring could be caused by that too. Or a sinus infection, or maybe his sinus passages are smaller, there are many things that could cause this but I wouldnt think anything to worry about if he is sleeping okay. Good that you are going to the doctor, they can help you.

Keeping a diary of what he eats and when he complains of the heartburn would be a good first step. It might be a specific food he is eating.
One thing which is known, as crazy as it sounds, people tend to crave the things which they are allergic to, or migh cause them discomfort.
It will be important for you physician to know if it is everytime he eats, or when he eats something with dairy or wheat etc.
