I am having 2nd set of twins and trying to do research on a good sturdy double stroller that will last and work in shopping malls as well as street walking. I've been comparing the Mountain Buggy urban double with the new Bumbleride Indie 2009 twin.
Last time I had a tandem Eddie Bauer, worked fine in the beginning but as twins got older, it was hard to turn, etc. Any advice on twin strollers would be great. Thanks

What can I do next?

hey there M.!!! i bought the baby jogger elite city series double stroller. It is the most AMAZING thing you will ever push! I've used it for infants all the way through children age 6. There are sooo many things that make this stroller so unique. Here are a few: adjustable handle bar on stroller, built in (individual for both kids) canopies which can completely cover each/both children, seats recline fully to laying position, two wheels on front (when you only have one wheel, it will always pull to one side bc the weight is not 100% distributed), optional parent consoles for handlebar, built in basket and MANY storage compartments for items, ventilation throughout stroller, ease of changing heights for stroller straps, PATENTED way of folding stroller in about 5 seconds flat, etc etc.

You simply MUST check it out before deciding on another!!!!! You may ask if I work for baby jogger-- nope. But I do LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I have several strollers by baby jogger, that is why I promote them soo much. Also, they have the best customer service I've ever experienced. Something broken on stroller? They just need a picture and will replace it right away :)

I buy all my strollers from www.arunningstroller.com -- they are sooo much better than any other company... Call Marilyn and Tell her Jill from KS referred you. She might be able to make you a deal. 1-800-925-0444 -- she is in the office most of the time, including weekends :)

Congrats on your second set of twins! How exciting! My twins are 7 years old, so I can only speak of my experiences back when they were younger as obviously we're not using a stroller now! However, I did use a Mountain Buggy Urban Double with them and LOVED it. I can't compare it with the Bumblride since I didn't have one (though I am about to get a single one for our 4th baby due soon), but the Mountain Buggy was a great stroller for us and held up really well. I got it back when they were first coming on the scene and it was worth every penny.

The key thing for me was that the front wheels had the swivel option. It makes it so much easier to steer, especially when you find yourself needing to carry one child (for whatever reason)... you can still steer/push fine with one hand! It's also held up great over the years... I used it for about 3-4 yrs, then loaned it to a friend for about 1.5yrs and I still have it in my garage in good working order. One of these days I'll probably sell it, just haven't gotten around to it. I've heard great things about the Bumbleride too, though, so I'm sure you'd do well with either. Maybe check their width and see which is narrower if that's a concern. I loved that my Mountain Buggy was narrow enough to fit through doors or stores, etc. Good luck. And congrats again.

Good Morning M., Congratulations Mama!!!! Nosy Nellie wants to know how old are the first set of twins are?!?!

I know nothing about the twin strollers you mentioned, so I did a web search on Strollers for Twins. Interesting information and so many to choose from. I saw actually 3 sets of Twins yesterday at a Mall here in Wichita. Each one had a different type of Twin stroller. One was the side by side, they had a time getting in the elevator, the trundle type ( one behind the other ) did ok, then there was the three wheeler Jogging type, with a wide rear wheel span.
I watched them all get on the elevator I am so caught up on babies and twins..

Since I am at a loss to help you at all :( do a online compare of the two you mentioned and see which one will fit in your budget, has the features you need, are guarenteed safe, has a good return policy if problems arise etc.. I looked at this site.

God Bless you M., hopefully other Mama's will have the information you need.

I saw a cool thing at Babies r us, it attatched to two umbrella strollers that made them into one. I don't know about newborns, but it would work for when they are older.
