I had one done and they only used 1 incision in my belly button. You probably heard right but they decided for some reason to make two incisions. Like most of the others have said it is common for two and over time you won't even notice them.
I had a tubal ligation and when I had the procedure I was told that they would make an incision either in the belly button or one on the bikini line however I have two incisions and have no reason as to why they made two incisions! is this normal or abnormal I really need to know!!!!

I had my Gallbladder out and a ovarian cyst removed by laparoscopic surgery. They made two incisions with both surgeries. One in my belly button and one in the bikini line. They worked through one incisions and inserted lights, camera, and an air tube to blow up the abdomen to allow more work space. It is pretty common for them to use two incisions. I had my tubal ligation done immediately after a c-section before being stitched up so I did not experience a laparoscopic tubal ligation so I can't be sure, but I'm sure it is done similarly.

I think you just misunderstood when they were talking about the incisions necessary. Typically, they make two small incisions in laparoscopic surgery. Call your doctor and discuss your concerns and questions with him/her.
Anyone I have ever know has had two incisions.
Could you have misunderstood? I ask because normally it is one in the belly AND one at the bikini line. I had to have my one ovary taken out so I have a third one but that is not the norm.
When did you get this done?I haven't had this done but seems like a question that the Dr.s office would be able to answer.Give them a call i'm sure they gave you informational handout that has answers to most coomon asked questions provided a number to call after hrs. & weekends
My understanding (and personal experience) is that they make two tiny incisions in the places you describe. One is for the insertion of gas to make the surgical site visible/accessible, the other is for the insertion of the instrument to actually do the procedure. I've never heard that that's been reduced to one incision.
To ease your mind, ask for a copy of the "authorization form to perform surgery." You should been given a form to read and sign prior to surgery. This document should state in detail what the procedure and and possible extra procedures that would be entailed in the surgery.
Wishing you a healthy recovery.

I have two incisions. You barely notice them.
sounds as if that did it laparoscopically. one incision was for the camera and the other incision was for the tool that they used to do the tubal ligation. it's very common. the patient loses less blood and heals faster with laparoscopy rather than an open surgery.
Its normal for BOTH. I had both, but was told that initially, and it was also in the paperwork my OB/GYN gave me when I asked about the procedure. They need to put several instruments in there and also some tools to lift up different areas.
i agree with the others and think your dr accidentally misspoke or you misunderstood. i've never heard of a tubal with only one incision, i have two incisions myself.
The best thing to do is to ask your doctor. He/She is the one who performed your surgery and has knowledge of your gynecological anatomy which I'm sure had bearing on his/her decision-making process. Call and ask.
