Inherited a LOT of EUC & good condition collectibles from late MIL. Namely original Star Trek plates, mugs, figurines. Anybody know of other sites besides eBay?

Muchas gracias! Listed a few things on local FB yardsale & marketplace a few weeks ago, no bites! Hubby is going to get that Letgo App & try that. I really liked the idea of having the inventory on google, going to do that this weekend. thanks!!

You might want to inquire with dealers who sell these things at Star Trek/sci fi conventions.
There use to be one in DC once a year but I see now the next one is a ways off - like Nov of 2017.

Do you have local sites on your Facebook?

There's a community on my FB that has things like this as well as my HOA page.

I've sold several things through 5miles app.

I steer from Craigslist because it gets too crazy. Either way, with any site, be safe and meet in safe places.

Replacements.com is in NC and they typically deal with fine china, crystal and sterling but you might check them out to see if they do collectibles too.

There's a lot of antique malls/shops around here with collectibles.

Go to a Star Trek forum, or Google "star Trek vintage" or "Star Trek collectors." I'm sure you're bound to find a site with Trekkies looking for specific items that you may have. Either that or eBay. You'll have better luck doing that than trying garage sales or Craigslist, as these are not usually a collector's first choice and the more collectors you attract, the more money you can get. You might also want to try a comic store, as they might know Trekkies too. I collected Star Wars action figures and eBay was my place of choice. There were hundreds of people bidding and competing with me, so you should not have any trouble finding buyers, especially if the items are hard to come by.

Where we live, there are local buy/sell sites. A whole bunch of them. Items go very quickly and the people actually show up to buy them as they typically live within your area. You can say a price and best offer. You will get multiple people interested and people tend to do very well.

Collectors and re-sellers often use them, so you might get someone who would take the whole lot.

We had a huge estate from my FIL and he had many expensive model trains (brass) and many other collectibles. We did a combination of ebay, Craigslist and even started a free website on Google sites where we kept an inventory and pictures. I would run an ad on Craigslist and renew it every 48 hours (per their terms of service) and when people replied, I sent them a link to the website.
We also knew of a Yahoo group devoted to particular collectibles and we joined the group and posted the link to the website. We probably sold 100 items this way because the group was so targeted. Just make sure you read their rules so you don't get kicked out.
You can also create slideshows on Google drive and embed them on the website or send people a link to the slideshow.

if you google Star Trek? you will get a BUNCH of websites where people trade, buy, sell, etc. their Star Trek goodies.

Craigslist.org - will just be local. Meet in public, cash only. Tell people where you are going and who you are supposedly meeting.

Facebook. There are groups in facebook that are genre specific. Even local yard sales.

I would check around your area - if you are really in VA - http://www.meetup.com/va-star-trek/ - you will find people who are setting up tables to sell their items. Sign up for a "Square" account - and be able to accept credit cards.

Make sure you do your research to find out what things are worth. Realize also that they are only worth what people are willing to spend on them. Ebay gets you worldwide coverage, yep you pay fees - but there's a LOT of people interested in Star Trek.

If your items are at least 20 years old, they can be sold under the "vintage" category on Etsy.

there are star trek conventions where the merchants buy stuff, you can contact them and they will come and look through the stuff or look at the pictures you have and give you prices

I think googling "star trek memorabilia buyers" may work the best.

I know Legos have a site called bricklink.com. I'm sure that there are similar pages for much loved TV shows and movie memorabilia. I'd do a search to "find" one of the items you have for sale then see how to go about selling items on those pages.
