Does anyone know of a good place to trick or treat with little ones? We tried to go to Warren's trunk or treat last year and it was a mob scene. There were thousands of people and we just left.

I heard Roayl Oak does trick or treat in the downtown area.

Anyone know of any good places???

What can I do next?

Hi Lisa,

I'm having a wonderful outdoor party for the children after the normal trick-or-treating is done...about 8 pm. You are more than welcome to join us. I can show you how to set up a wonderful party without breaking the bank. I love meeting new moms and sharing ideas. I'm in Warren at 9 and VanDyke. Feel free to contact me through e-mail or call me. My information is registered here for everyone to see. Any other moms in the area that would like to join in are more than welcome, just contact me for the information.

We will have games and prizes and lots and lots of candy! I can't wait! It is going to be sooooo much fun!

Downtown Rochester on October 25th from 4:30pm-6:30pm. It is great - the stores all hand things out. Last year some of the restaurants gave away a coupon for free children's meal and other fun things. It is a safe and fun alternative. You can get more information at the DDA site www.downtownrochestermi.com

We did the Zoo Boo on Sunday and honestly I was dissapointed. BUT we only paid $6/person so we got what we paid for. Since it gets dark so early you can't see the few animals on your path and it was crazy. I think there were 16 trick or treat stations so you weren't bombarded with candy. We still had fun (we did a group of 20) and we tried something different. Next year it will be Huckleberry RR.

My daughter is 7 and we always go to the Fall Frenzy at Mckinley Elementary, they have a great Halloween party for the kids, it is on the 24th of October the ticket are 4.00. They can dance, do trick or treating in the Classrooms, decorate cup cakes, make crafts and the get pizza and a drink.

Yes, for many years kids have been able to "Trick or Treat" at downtown Royal Oak businesses the Saturday before Halloween. It's called Spooktacular and you can contact the city or chamber of commerce for exact times and other info.

Check the newspapers...many churches are having "trunk or treat" activities and then there's the Zoo-Boo at the Detroit Zoo.

We've done Zoo Boo and enjoyed that. It's local/cute and we are big zoo fans.

Huckleberry Railroad at Crossroads Village is really cool, too. It's in Flint, so a bit of a drive, but it's well worth it. They have a boat ride you can do, a train ride, and trick or treating through the Village (there are 20 stops for trick or treating, the last stop gives a cup of cider & a donut, one stop gives an apple, then the others were candy). It is in Flint and I highly recommend that. (My son is 2-1/2 and loved it...my niece is 3 and loved it.) Oh, for younger kids, it was good going in the daylight...at night, it's lit up and a little spookier (but not scary, just cool to see the lights). They also have a straw maze. We spent a couple hours out there. (For the train ride/village trick or treating it was $13/pp....you do pay for adults, but adults also get a trick or treat bag and treats.)

Best wishes...
