Looking for Something for the Little Kids to Do on Halloween.

I'm looking for something to do with my two boys, ages 3 and 1, and my neice (age 1) on Halloween day. My husband has the day off and we'd like one more excuse to take them out in their costumes, but it seems that all activities aimed at kids are only for the weekend before Halloween. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

We just took our kids to an apple orchard this Sunday. It was fun for them. There wasa haunted barn, hayrides, pumpin painting, Sling shot game, a free bouncing pit and playground area, and the kids picked out pumpkins to bring homw to carve as well as getting caramel apples and a bag of honeycrisps.

I know Eagle's Nest in New Brighton has a Halloween Spooktacular going on during the day the 31st. If you have never been there it is certainly something you want to become acquainted with as a winter fun resource for your two kids. Information can be found on the Coty of New Brighton website.

Hi L.

Depending on where you live, the Mall of America has stuff going on for Halloween for kids. Google "Mall of America Halloween".

Also check with your neighboring big shopping malls. (Rosedale, Burnsville, Maple Wood, etc..) Most malls are set-up for "store-to-store" trick or treating. They do this for a safer Halloween for kids.

If you don't have a church you go to, you may want to look into any that are close by. I know ours does a Trick or Trunk in the parking lot (trick-or-treating from car to car). Many of them do have activities for the kids. Also, Como Zoo does a Boo Zoo and MN Zoo does HallZOOween. Those might be a couple of ideas.
