TOTALLY Hypothetical Question...

If you and your husband spent the night at your friends house (everyone was drinking, no kids, just good old grown up fun but now you can't drive so you crashed there)... and you and your husband happened to have sex in your friends guest bed, would you tell them? Simply remove the sheets and toss them in the laundry room with no explanation?

What can I do next?

NO I wouldn't tell them. My sex life is none of their business.

I'd likely ask "Do you want me to throw my sheets in the wash?" assuming that ALL people wash the sheets after a guest leaves. If she says no I'd leave it at that. If she says yes I'd toss the load in the wash.

TOTALLY hypothetical eh?? :)

Totally hypothetical response-as I do not have a guest bedroom...please, do not tell me if you had sex in my guest bed. ;)

I would just strip the sheets and leave in the laundry -no explanation needed. They'll just think you're a very considerate guest!

I always change the sheets when I stay at someone's house. It has NEVER occurred to me that I am not supposed to have sex. Am I not supposed to? I have also NEVER mentioned it to the host. Whom most frequently is my MIL - I think it would be a bit awkward and since we have a kid, I assume she knows it happens. I have never actually even wondered whether my house guests do it. Eww, now I have to think about it. We have guests for Thanksgiving.

I always change the sheets after someone has stayed in our guest room. They are the gross ones if they don't wash the sheets after you've stayed!

Seriously, though, you shouldn't have to tell anyone what you have done, unless there is a sign posted that says "NO SEX IN HERE!" right under the "Free beer tomorrow" sign.

But I wouldn't be offended if my friends had sex and then removed the sheets. Saves me a few minutes!

And, if you're doing it in their house, chances are, you are close enough to be able to say "we did it in your bed".

When we have guests at our house, they arrive to clean sheets and I would wash the sheets after they left. Sometimes guests offer to strip the bed themselves, others might assume I would do it.
I probably wouldn't need to know if they had sex...the sheets would be washed regardless.
Either way, I can't see having to know.....so if it was me & my husband staying somewhere, I would ask if they would like me to strip the bed, I guess...

Sheets should be changed just because you used (slept in) the bed.
(Having sex in it doesn't even enter into it).
It would be gross if fresh sheets were not used for the next guest.
So just strip the sheets off the bed and put them in the laundry.
No further commentary or explanation is necessary.

Your question made me laugh! But... if I found myself in that situation, I would not tell my friend that we had sex in her guest bed. She probably doesn't want to know. I'd just take the sheets off, toss in the laundry room, and that's that.

Eew...no. I can NOT have sex in someone else's bed/home. We don't drink, so obviously I could never get drunk enough. Thank God, my husband is the same way...so he'd never even ask it of me.

Nope! Every time a guest stays over I make sure they have clean blankets and sheets. When they leave we wash the sheets and blankets. Even if its a single person who we are pretty sure did not "do" anything. Its just clean and nice. I would probably get the gloves out to carry the sheets.

We always just strip the bed when we stay at other people's homes. I never feel obligated to tell them what happened in their bed. We have had many, many houseguests in our guest room. Not one person, ever, has felt the need to tell us what they did in there. I think I would be a bit shocked if they did. Why would I need to know that? It doesn't concern me in the least. In other words, it's none of my business, even though it is my house, my bed, my sheets. The washing machine works great for that!

Been there, done that. Don't tell them, they don't need to know. They'll probably strip the bed and wash the sheets anyway. If not, then you hypothetically might have just did it in a bed after someone else did it in the bed! EW!! At that thought, just toss them in the laundry room!

Right, right. OBVIOUSLY hypothetical (ahem, wink, wink, ahem).

If I were the one dancing the horizontal polka (ha ha ha SNORT), I'd just toss my sheets. To be honest, given the hypothetical situation you've described, it would be assumed that those sheets were going to get some use.

My girlfriends and I have the sense of humor of twelve year old boys. There is no topic that gets left untouched. I mean...really...no subject. So, inevitably it WOULD come up...I would blush, laugh, snort, make a lewd gesture, and move on to the coffee pot.

Depends on how good a friends ya'll are????? HYPOTHETICALLY, we had that happen on a long music festival weekend in our RV, we all joked about it the whole weekend. Anytime either couple left the main group to go back to the RV we joked "ya'll goin to take a nap?" I'm just saying hypothetically......

I would feel obligated to wash the sheets or tell them. Ideally, I would strip the bed and ask where the stuff was to remake it so that, "The bed was fresh for the next guess." Then it would kind of be a "don't ask, don't tell" situation and they could come up with whatever conclusion they want to.

nope. We're all about comfort and familiarity, and someone else's guest bed isn't quite going to cut it for us....

That said, I'd love to have a babysitter and a night out. But at hotel, not at my friend's house!

You don't have to say or do anything. I would assume that they would wash the sheets anyway after you left. I would just make up the bed and leave for them to take care of.

Hi, R.:

You don't have to have sex to mess up the sheets.
Remove the sheets and tell the house guests
that you messed up the sheets and would like to
wash them before you leave and remake the bed.
It needs no explanation other than to
wash the sheets and make up the bed.
We are human and mistakes are made all the time.
Good luck.

Whenever we spend the night at someone else's house I always pull the sheets off the next morning. Why make more work for them. I have even been known to start a load of wash going if it is a friend or a relative that I know how they like their laundry done.
