my daghter is ten and she is mad because she has a forth grade musical and a solo but she'll be in recovary from her tonsillectomy.what should i tell her?

Why does to surgery have to be right at that time? It's not an emergency so schedule for a time that's not so important for her. It's a big deal to a kid to have a solo part like this.

is there any way you can schedule the tonsillectomy for after? i missed a recital when i was 7 and still remember how upset i was. little things like that are so important for a child.

Tonsillectomies are usually elective surgeries and, unless the tonsils are currently very inflamed and infected, can probably be put off a week or so to allow your daughter to perform. Gargling with salt water can help relieve the inflammation on a temporary basis. I would talk to your doctor. This is an important moment in your child's life and a big honor.
