Does anyone know how to get tomato and tomato sauce stains out of kids clothes? My son loves tomatoes but the juice is ruining his clothes.

There hasn't been a stain yet, that I couldn't get out. I just use dishwashing liquid. I squirt some on the stain, rub it in, put in the wash and BAM. Stains are out. Hope this helps.

Yes, you can purchase a spray called, "Clorox Stain Out." It comes in a blue trigger-spray bottle, and you can get it at Wal-Mart. It works on more stains than Shout!

Hi J.,
I'm another mom whose kids love tomatoes. That was the only think I craved while I was pregnant so I guess they came by it honestly. I use Dreft stain spray and Carbona(in a little yellow bottle) that's specially formulated to take out all sorts of stuff. They have a different formula for different thinks but it took Sharpie out of my son's overalls so I swear by them! They used to carry it at my WalMart but now I get it at Hancocks. They also have a website, www.carbona.com.

There's also an auction on eBay right now for the exact one you need. The item # is: 120099489288. I have paid $4-5 per bottle so this is a *great* buy. It will also take stains out post-washer/dryer.

Hope this helped!

My daughter loves tomatoes too. The best thing that worked for me was spray and wash and they also have a power stick stain remover. Those were life savers because most of her clothes had juice all over them!

Shout it out! That is probly the only thing that gets every thing out. or if that doesnt work you could trying a mild degreaser like grease lightning or kaboom

Two things I've used. Awesome...you can get it at Dollor Tree and you have to used it before you wash the shirt just spray directly on the spot and wash. You might also be able to use Hydrogen Peroxide...I know it works with blood. Good Luck

You may have to just let them eat the tomato products with their shirts off, LOL! However shout, spray n wash, or Biz added to your regular detergent is good. You may have to wash the items twice to get it all out. Biz also smells heavenly. You could also try soaking the shirts as soon as they get stained, not letting the stain dry, or rubbing a pretreater like shout on it right away.

shout has always worked really good for me. you just need to spray it really good and let it soak for a little bit, before putting it in the washer. also you can try all with the stain lifter in it , that works really well on my 5 year olds clothes.

J.,

I use OXY Clean on Everything! That stuff is like gold! It cleans out every stain!! Just make sure to disolve it in warm/hot water first - cold water doesnt disolve the crystals. On clothes - I pre-soak in hot water w/ a little Oxy and the stains come right out! I buy the real Oxy, the others just haven't worked as well, for me.

Good luck!

Hi J.!
I have found that Tide gets rid of so many stains. If the garment(s) are white or light colored, you can add vinegar or lemon juice in the hottest water possible for the garment with the Tide. If it is a colored garment then you'll want to stick with a stain remover which contains enzymes. "Spray n Wash dual power" is a good one. I would use that in conjunction with the Tide. If it's an "old" stain then you may have to soak for a while and wash a couple times.
I hope this works for you!
Take Care!

Try getting some liquid ALL (laundry soap) and pouring some directly on the tomato juice, then wash the clothes in cold water and ALL. I, too have a messy boy...I won't wash my clothes in anything but ALL, it's the only thing that works for me. It also saves me $$ because I'm not constantly buying new clothes for school like I used to, it takes out whatever he gets into.

I keep clorox for colors in a spray bottle. Spray the stains and sit overnight in cool water. Wash in the morning and most of the time it comes out. Be sure to use the blueish-clear one, not the pink. I've noticed sometimes the pink clorox turns white clothes pink. Also try buying white shirts. Sounds crazy to put a kid in white, but you can just bleach them with regular bleach.

The best and most cost effective stain fighter I have found is the Liquid dawn original for colors and for whites I believe it is called Dawn Fresh Rapids w/ bleach alternative. Used as a pre-treater I have found it gets out all sorts of stuff, grease, grass stains, ink, and spagetti sauce. I squirt a little on the stain prior to washing, for bad ones I leave it on overnight. Sometimes after putting it through the washer once I have to repeat, but as long as you do not dry it till it comes out, all is not lost. It works pretty well. Hope it will work on your on your little guys clothes.

Oxy clean and Era are life savers!!! Also on whites you can use Lysol deodorizing spray. Sounds strange but I heard it and tried it....works wonders. I am 24 yrs old with 3 boys and plenty of stained clothes.
