I just read a study where they discovered honey was just as effective as cough medicine so just keep with it. Use a humidifier at night to help with dryness.
Dr. advises not to use cough suppressant. Just honey and warm lemonade. Whats are remedies you've tried that have worked?
Last night I set up the humidifer; rub some baby vicks on her chest, back, and feet; and gave her some little colds honey elixir and it seemed to help. She didn't wake up as cranky but sounded congested. I tried the honey and warm lemonade but she wasn't a fan. We'll see what the dr says friday morning. Thanks again for all the help!

This sounds like it works well with that 'tickly' cough. If it's a congested, wet cough, I would raise their head in the crib or toddler bed with a phone book or similar under the mattress. Not enough to slide, just angle. Helps the drainage not get caught in the throat. Poor thing, they look so sad when they don't feel well.
go get some Hyland's brand cold and cough medicine for kids...all natural ingredients, including honey for the cough suppressant =) safe for kids as young as 2! and Walmart carries it where we live
Honey works great for us too. Also, I rub eucalyptus oil on my daughter's chest and put it in the humidifier.
