When my little one falss asleep on the floor and we pick her up to take her to bed she shakes all over. Head to toe. She doesn't do this all the time but I have noticed she is doing it more and more. I don't remember any of my other children doing this. Any ideas on what it causing this?

What can I do next?

My little one does this if I wake her. I think it might be the transition between sleep and awake for someone so young. Little ones usually sleep very soundly and waking from a dead sleep can be rough. I think it could be caused by the nerves suddenly going off to wake and move the body. I'm no expert but I would think the shaking would be the same as the shakes I get when I'm over tired. Nerves all misfiring trying to keep me awake longer then I should be sort of thing. I don't think it's damaging her in anyway, but I can't imagine that it's very pleasant. Is there anyway you can keep her from falling asleep on the floor? That way you don't have to move her and wake her. If you have to move her try moving as softly and slowly as possible if she begins to wake/shake talk to her soothingly, hold her close and try to get her to relax a little.

I hope this helps.

when my four year old wakes up in the middle of the night he does this too. He is a great sleeper and very rarely is up throughout the night, but there was one time my husband and I discussed how bizarre it was. I don't think it's anything to worry about, I just think it's them being half awake. My son always stops if I really try to wake him up all the way, he's just such a heavy sleeper that I have to physically wake him up in order for him to snap out of it

My babies have all done this if they have been sleeping really hard and are not fully awake. I will usually hold them until they are either asleep again or fully awake.

I know I do this sometimes after I have been sleeping really soundly. I wake up a little wobbly and have tremors.
