We have the Brighthouse DVR & I don't know what I used to do w/out it! I think it's great & soooo worth the money.
Has anyone had any experiences with both TIVO and Brighthouse DVR? If so what are the Pros and cons of each? I have the DVR right now but wonder if it is worth switching. It seems like it would be cheaper if I could just get the TIVO system and pay the lifetime fee. I don't know.
Thoughts?

TiVo! We have Direct TV DVR and Tivo. I would go Tivo all the way! I don't know how I handled mommy life without it!
I don't know about Brighthouse, but my husband and I got TIVO for Christmas last year (complete with the lifetime subscription) and I don't know what we did before. Regular TV really stinks. I don't have time for commercials! And some of my favorite stuff comes on too late for me to stay up. And I can record the kids favorite shows that come on during the day while we're at work and can let them watch them whenever.
I would highly suggest TIVO vs Brighthouse. We had TIVO in Gainesville for two years before we moved here to Tampa. We loved the features it offers and it was so easy to use. We decided to go with Brighthouse in Tampa because it would allow my husband to record in HD but are on the verge of canceling to go back to TIVO.
It is hard to describe the particulars of why TIVO is so much more user friendly if you haven't used both systems but take my word, from someone who has had them both, TIVO is well worth it.
We have both and there are things that we like better on the Tivo, like the search option. As for the lifetime, I don't think they offer it anymore. We like the Tivo better except that the HD box is sooooo much money.
