I have found that the Mr Clean white erasers work wonderfully. You will go through several, but it cleans it nicely. My mom also has a very light grout in her kitchen, and when we have done hers, it brings it back to the very light color.
I am searching for a really good and fast tile and grout cleaner. My entire downstairs is tile and the grout has never been sealed. The house that I live in is a rental and I never thought that they wouldn't have sealed the grout. So in the higher traffic areas of the downstairs there is a lot of discoloration and I am looking for something that I can use that will make the grout white again. Thanks
Well, I went and got a tile and grout cleaner from Home depot and so far it looks as if it will work. If I can't clean it myself, I will then take one of the cleaning companies that were recommended. Thank you for all your feed back on this subject I really appreciated it!

I am a house cleaner for a small company in maricopa and he specializes in carpets and tile also. He is very efficiant and his company is very well ran and hes a nice christian man. it is called Anthonys and his phone number is ###-###-####.
I highly recommend Northside Carpet Cleaning. I know the owner. His prices are fair and he does a great job. He does tile, grout, carpets, and furniture. If you have carpet, he has a product called Baby Safe that has less chemicals. His number is ###-###-#### ask for Al.
For the best results. Start with a neutral cleaner with a PH Balance of 7 or 8. If you do not get the results you desire you need to steam it. If you use vinager or any other acid based products you will break down the polymers in the grout and the grout will eventually crack and pop out over time. Not only that you will start bleaching your grout over a period of time.
After you clean it rinse it very well before you seal it or you will trap chemicals in your grout.
My friend was told by the guy who did her floors to use vinegar... you can check in on it to see if it works or is recommended. Have you called a tile company to see what they recommend?
Hi A.,
we also have tile all downstairs, same dirty problem too! I just pick up the cleaner from "home depot" and it goes on just like floor wax. Mop it on, let it sit, mop it off! I cant remember the name of it but i will look and see if i have an empty bottle:)
hope this helps!
Good luck kb
Since you are in a rental, ask the owner/landlord if they would seal the grout or to reimberse you (if you present quotes and from 2 different companies you are making the leggwork really easy and he might say go for it.) It is a pain in the butt to do yourself with little kids (time consuming- we're talking about scrubbing grout with toothbrush...)save your energy for your kids as you are just a renter.
Hi! I had the same exact issuse in a house we used to rent. It was all tile, and the owner never had it sealed. At the time we didn't have kids yet, but 2 big dogs! Clorox Cleanup spray works very very well! It has bleach in it so be careful around the kids, but that is what I used to fix ours. Just spray it on the grout and let it sit and maybe use a scrub brush in the stubborn areas. Good luck, I hope it works for you!
