Hello everyone! I'm wondering if I can get some good thoughts/ideas from you on my husband's 10 year anniversary gift. My husband is truly one of a kind - amazing husband, always doing everything for others and asking nothing in return. He's a very talented businessman and loves his family, and everything that he does in his free time is spent between those two. He's not into anything material, so would like to get him something that is from the heart and meaningful, but I'm struggling to figure out what that would be. Does anyone have suggestions or ideas? Appreciate it in advance!

What can I do next?

IF he likes sports - how about checking with his favorite team and see what they will do?

I know one of my girlfriends set up a session with Edelman of the Patriots for her son for his birthday.

Maybe a weekend away? Make memories instead of buying him something?

If he loves his kids? Why not have them use the material paint and make a sweatshirt for him with their handprints? or like they are hugging him? One from the front and one from the back?

I'm a big fan of the "experience" gift rather than the "item" gift. Tangibly that looks like tickets to a play, a comedy show, or a concert. Perhaps something with a local sports team or a weekend away as previously mentioned. There is a company that lets you behind the wheel of a race car at Texas Motor Speedway (did this for my husband years ago & he really enjoyed it). Skydiving, paintballing, wine & art night, gallery showing, etc...
The DFW metroplex has so many neat events & venues that there is bound to be something he would enjoy doing! Hope you find the perfect gift - happy anniversary!

I agree about the "event" type gifts that create memories: a weekend away, a mystery dinner event, a wine tasting experience, anything he would never spring for on his own.

You could also do something like a journal or even a hard cover book of selected photos and sayings. Shutterfly gives simple templates. We did one for a relative's special birthday, and our son did one for us when he finished high school to thank us for everything. So your 10th anniversary would be 120 months with your husband - you could write 120 things you love about him, memories you cherish, great moments, funny things he says that crack you up, even odd but endearing habits that make him special. We did 95 things we love/remember about a relative for her 95th birthday - just typed it up and pasted it into the book template, inserted photos, and it was DONE.

Alternatively, you could do a scrapbook of photos, sayings and mementos (tickets from a show you attended, some cards he's given you in the past, anything worth preserving. It's fun to leaf through something over time.

One of the best gifts I ever gave my husband was something some local sportscasters were offering. One was a gravelly-voiced color commentator who'd been around forever. He and his younger cohort offered a fake broadcast of a Boston Celtics game. The customer named the "amateur" in their life, the additional pro players and the game situation - so, I chose a championship game, with my husband and 4 real Celtics, and told them to have my husband make the winning shot with 2 seconds left on the clock. They even commented that my husband's 2 daughters and I were in the stands. The rest of it they made up, like a real play-by-play, and added sound effects (buzzers, crowd screaming, etc.) - and sent me a finished recording. It was great - his total sports fantasy. So you might inquire about something local that reflects your husband's interests. It might be a long shot, but it's super fun if someone offers it!

Good luck and leet us know what you come up with!

A surprise overnight out if you can arrange an overnight babysitter.

I think time away with you would be a great gift. Maybe a weekend at a spa retreat - soak in the pools, get a couples massage, etc. Relaxing and romantic.
