I was on the depo shot for about 9 months (3 shots) and when i went back to get myh 4th i switched to the mini pill because the hormones that are in the other pills and such mess with my body sooo much well after three months of them i decided to get off of it to see if i can get my body back to a normal state before trying any other birth control. well the second month i had some spotting on my "reminder" pills but nothing major at all and i have not had an actual period since i started the depo. i was on it right after i had my daughter for one shot and after that i did not have a period for about 3/4 months I do NOT think i could be pregnant because i took my pill at the same time EVERY day did not miss a day and if i did take it late my boyfriend and i did NOT do anything for a couple days but i am wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Like i do not feel like my period is about to come at all and i do plan on taking a test this weekend to be sure as i do like to take one every few months anyways but i do not have insurance so if i was i do not know what i would do anyways. i just need some insite as to if this has happened to anyone that was on the shot for a while and if so when their period came back. before i stated birth control my period was always regular

***my daughter is almost 2 and i was on the shot about 2 monthts after she was born until she was 5 months old then i switched to Yaz for about 3 months then i went to ortho tri cyclen lo for about 6 months then i went on the shot for 9 months and then the mini pill for 3 months and now i am not taking anything but we are using condoms****

What can I do next?

Sometimes after child birth it can take awhile before your body gets back to "itself". Given that immediately after the birth you began taking hormones, then switched to another kind of hormones, your body may still be trying to normalize. Everybody is different and it can take awhile sometimes. Did you breastfeed at all? That can certainly affect your cycle as well. And of course, the more you stress over the whole thing, that can have effects as well.

Take your test. And try to relax. And be sure to use SOMETHING for birth control, even if it isn't more hormones.

You should be fine. Changing your birth control so often is really messing with your system so you shouldn't do that. It really messed with my system too and I finally just stopped using it. We made sure to use condoms and I was a fanatic charting my cycles. I stopped using any birth control on my side after I got pregnant with two children on two different systems. So while there is a possibility you are, it's unlikely; it won't hurt to take the test anyway. The longer you're on any form of birth control, the longer it takes your body to straighten itself back out. My SIL was on it for years when she decided to get pregnant and it took 3 more years before her system had straightened enough for her to do so.

It can be normal after changing birth control pills/methods as well as after childbirth. But also take a test to ease your mind. I took the pill religiously and still got pregnant. There is always that slight chance but most likely your body is just adjusting.
