...that anything can happen!!!

One of my good friends had the Essure procedure three years ago. Her husband had a vasectomy not long after. She found out today she is 13 weeks pregnant!

A complete shock and blessing for sure! Thank God they are happy about it!

Do you have an 'anything can happen' story?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

In summery: If you had sex.....then yes you can be pregnant! Hahahaha!

Okay, all of you hysterectomy ladies get a pass on this one! ;)

Just a side note, my dad was an 18 year after the fact (vasectomy) baby. Now THAT was a shock, I'm sure! I can't imagine dodging the baby bullet for 18 years just to find out that the vasectomy didn't really work.

And this is why I always told my patients to be hyper vigilant about their post vas checkups!

Wow!!! Now, I think I can say with certainty that I will never get pregnant. I had a hysterectomy. Right!?!?!? Lol.

Our story is the fact that we were able to get pregnant the first time after seeing specialists and 6 years of infertility and while going through the adoption process. Ok, so the doctor put me on a medicine and that did it, but we had resigned the fact that it wasn't going to happen biologically. Now we have 2 daughters biologically. So blessed.

Congrats to your friend and thanks for sharing!

It happened about 6 months ago, but I got pregnant unexpectedly with using 2 forms of birth control 100 % faithful, never missing any etc. God placed another baby in my womb and I am so thankful!!!! I am due in a few months :)

A friend of mine's husband had a vasectomy 6 years ago, and 3 months ago she thought she had the flu and was just having a hard time recovering... nope! She went to the doctor, and surprise! She's pregnant.

I told my husband that and he flipped out. Practically ran to the doctor for his 2 year post-vasectomy checkup. LOL

Does finding out that you're 5 1/2 months pregnant when you went in with a cold and a double ear infection count?

Apparently when you take the stuff to fight shingles makes BC USELESS!

I love my little accident. He's currently watching SpongeBob and enjoying some 'delicious' Fruit Loops. :)

My daughter, as she went in for her first round of chemo was told that this particular kind of chemo was very aggressive, and caused sterility. They didn't say "can cause sterility" - they said "does cause sterility". 6 months of chemo, and 1 year into remission, she goes in for a follow up PET scan, and is told that they can't do the PET scan because she is pregnant. Her doctors tried to push her into terminating it, but she wouldn't do it, and he is now almost 3 years old!

Congratulations to your friend! I love hearing about those little surprises and would secretly love one of my own!

My cousin and her husband tried for years to have a baby but they were unsuccessful so they had to do fertility treatments with both of their sons! This past summer we were all hanging out and I was telling her I was on the fence about a third baby and she just laughed and said they were done! I asked if anything was permanent (meaning vasectomy) and she said nope and that there was no need either since they had never used any type of birth control and also had to jump through so many hoops with their previous pregnancies. Well she found out two weeks later that she was expecting baby #3 and she's due in February - and it's a girl =)

First off, congrats to your friend! While my hubs and I decided long ago that 2 was a good number of kids for us, I admit, there have been times where I wouldn't be sad if his vasectomy failed! ;) Then, I have a screaming or sick baby at daycare, and am relieved to send em home! hehe!

That being said, yes, anything can happen.

* After every fertility treatment except IVF and absolutely giving up, we got pregnant on our own, w/out trying anymore! And our daughter was only 6 months old when we got pregnant w/ our son...on our own!!! **(When I say w/out trying, I don't mean we stopped having sex...we just stopped stressing about WHY we were having sex and enjoyed it!)

* As a child, I was athletic and had pain in my shoulder. Went to the chiropractor to get it adjusted and checked out (I was 11) and found out I had a broken neck and had since I was a baby. After surgery, it re-broke and was again for over 4 more years...after 3 MAJOR surgeries and lots of scars and sacrifice, I was fixed and have no lasting damage, other than limited mobility in my neck. And all while it was broken, my vertebrae were pressing on my spinal cord and cause indentations...but NEVER severed it...if that isn't a miracle, I don't know what is.

Thanks for sharing your friends story today...I needed to hear something that would make me smile.

My .02 into this is I got pregnant about two months after a first trimester miscarriage. No that's not the cool part. The cool part is I was in a very serious car accident at about six weeks pregnant, was in a coma, went through different surgeries, one lasting over 12 hours and so on and so forth negative from the accident and went on to give birth to a very healthy, although early, little girl who is now 8 years old. In my mind she was meant to be mine because for all the various medical reasons she should not be here. :)
