This Is Pathetic... - JFF

Okay, so technically I've always been a bit forgetful (Okay, a lot forgetful). Then when I got pregnant with Oliver, I got to blame it on 'pregnancy brain'. After he was born, I blamed it on 'mommy brain'. And now, I'm once again blaming it on 'pregnancy brain'. And, I just had a very pathetic pregnancy brain moment.

I could not remember how old I am. Seriously. I had to actually ask my husband if I am going to be 22 in November or if I am already 22 and will be turning 23. In case your curious, I'm going to be 22. Of course, my husband thought this was hysterical. Especially since I just teased him about being 'old' last night. And now I am left feeling pathetic.

So please, just so that I know I'm not alone, tell me your best (Or would it be your worst?) "pregnancy brain" moment of all time.

Mine: I was 11 weeks pregnant with my current pregnancy. It was the week before me and hubby's anniversary. I was doing dishes and thinking about how excited I was for the weekend because my parents were going to have Oliver all weekend long. Hubby and I hadn't had sex since we found out we were expecting. We needed to make up for lost time! Then I was hit with a feeling of dread. I realized that I hadn't gotten my period in a while and since "aunty flow" always likes to come at the worst possible moments I just KNEW that she was going to visit that weekend making sex a no-go. Yep... I was thinking about how we hadn't sex since we found out that I was PREGNANT and I was worried that I was going to get my period before we could have said sex. Face... Meet palm.

What can I do next?

LOL! Don't feel bad. After my second son was born, I somehow "lost" a year in my head. My birthday rolled around and I mentioned being 36, and my husband looked at me and said, "Honey, you're not 36. You're 37." I said "No, I'm 36!" And he proceeded to do the math to prove to me that I was indeed 37. He was right and it absolutely blew me away that I forgot how old I was. So you aren't the only one!

I think once you hit 21, it gets harder to remember how old you are. Lol.

Especially once you have kids! Time goes by so fast.

In order to remember my age, I have to add my DDs age to 23, which is how old I was when I had her. :)

I still haven't lived down the time I snapped at my husband while I was pregnant. We were talking on the phone, and he asked if I had paid the utility bill yet. I said that I couldn't remember, so I needed to check my email. (Which I did on my phone because we didn't have a computer at that point.) So I start looking for my phone. (We started talking about other things) After about 15 minutes of listening to me rummage around the house, and getting increasingly pissed off, he asked what I was doing. I snapped at him, "I'm looking for my f***ing phone so I can see if I paid the damn utilities!" I just hear a few seconds of silence, then, "...honey... Look at your hand." (Me, still pissed off) "yeah I see it, what about it?" (Him, very calm with repressed laughter in his voice) "OTHER hand Dear..." (Me) "....oh."

Oh, honey. Someday you will be celebrating your 29th birthday and realize that you've had your 29th birthday at least 9 times now! ;) It's best just to stop counting after 21, I've found!

That being said, I STILL have mommy brain - and my "baby" is 8! Ugh!

There is a really sweet grandmother at the bus stop and she could not believe I was old enough to have a 4th grader last year. I told her my oldest was in 9th grade. She then asked me how old I was. I told her I was 42. I came home and of course was telling everyone this great story😊. My daughter over heard me and said "Mom, you are 43." I realized she was right. I thought if she only knew I was even older than I claimed she would be even more impressed!

My husband and I both thought he was a year older than he was for an entire year. On his next birthday we finally did the math and he got to be a year younger on his birthday.

I go through that "am I already this age or just turning this age?" thing every year. Twice. Because husband and I are the same age, until he has his birthday. And it's how I remember how old HE is!

It's because you have so much more important stuff to remember! That's what I always attribute it to anyway.

Been there. Done that.

I roll with it.

30-mumble is TOO an age!

Never happened before I had kids. I think it's part of the time warp that happens when they're born.

LOL!! It's been a while since I've had pregnancy brain!! I don't remember all that I did...

I STILL forget my age!! Once I hit 30? Heck - maybe even 21 - It didn't really matter any more!!

I can walk into a room and forget what I went there for!! thank God it doesn't happen all the time!
