Has anyone seen this movie yet? My son is 4 and he loves the cartoon. I know it is PG, but so was Alice in Wonderland. Everyone that I know that saw Alice in Wonderland said that it would be to scary.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone! We will probably wait. I'm thinking it may be to intense for a 4 year old and I don't want to waist my money if I am going to be disappointed.
PS. To DC: Everyone should be proud of him. Like I said, I haven't seen the movie so I can't comment on the special effects. But, to be involved in the making of a major film.....HUGE accomplishment!

I took my five year old last night. She enjoyed it, but there were a few parts where she complained that it was scary. I'd wait if I were you.

Unfortunately the two teens I know who saw it last night at the midnight showing said it was awful and that people were booing it when it ended.

Given that and the intense previews, I would wait to have it on DVD before showing it to your 4yr old. I was bummed to hear the reviews and will be waiting for the dvd instead of a date with my husband to see it. =-)

Hope this helped.

My son is 6 and has a 5 year old friend. My son and my hubby have been watching the cartoon to get ready for the movie. We went yeasterday. I thought it was ok, but it's really a little boys type of movie. My son and hubby loved it. His 5 year old friend is a girl so she just thought it was cool to go to a movie with him, but I don't know how much she actualy liked the movie. It was a little scary, but it's only PG so not to many scary parts. In fact we even took our 2 year old and he liked it to! I should mention that we do not pay attention to ratings. Anything the kids see we explain and talk to them about it and make sure they know it is all fake and is just a movie. Just had to put my 2 cents in!

I've also heard that people who love the cartoon do not like the movie. I would wait for it to come out on video in case he doesnt like it, you didnt have to spend as much.

I took 3 kids last night, 9 yr old girl, 7 yr old girl, 4 1/2 yr old boy. My 9 yr old was the only one who liked it. The younger kids did not understand the storyline and could not follow it and kept asking if it was almost over yet. The younger kids were also scared by all the action/violence/fighting/"bad guys" and LOTS of fire. The ending was bad, all of a sudden it just ended and they set it up so you have to go see the other movies that must be coming to see the whole story. We went for free, otherwise we would not have gone. I was bored, but that is not the type of movie I normally like. I would wait to rent it and then only rent it if he REALLY still wants to see it.
