Taking My 4 Year Old to See the New Movie Enchanted?

I would wait until it comes out on DVD. There are some possibly scary scenes in it for a 4 year old. I learned with my kids that the size of the screen and the volume of the sound in a theater magnifies the "scary" effect. When in doubt, I always wait until we can watch it at home on a smaller screen.

I took the triplets to see it and they all loved it! The dragon/witch didn't scare them at all! It is a great movie because it is entertaining for all ages....and that actually is what I had read about it before I took them.

It really just depends on your 4 yr old. My 4 yr old is very easily scared. He was even scared in Bee movie and I thought he was going to have a heart attack during Polar Express. My friend had already warned me about the scary part at the end of Enchanted so I was able to warn him about it. He said he didn't even want to go see it, but my cousin was in town and everybody else wanted to go so we went anyway. He was definitely scared but afterwards said that he really liked the movie (just not the bad queen/dragon). My 2 yr old girl also enjoyed it. We will probably purchase this one when it comes out. I liked it personally! I also feel like if there was anything inappropriate, it is so far over their heads at this point that they're clueless. I remember Grease being my favorite movie when I was a kid and then when I rewatched it in high school I was shocked to learn how bad it was when I had knowledge of what they were talking about...

My 6 year old went to see it with her friend, and she said that the witch scared her in one part.

I would pass, personally. There is a scene with a very scary giant dragon/monster. I would a tleast try to see it first before you make a decision.

I would reccomend that you check out screenit.com. It is a website to rate the negatives about any one movie. It not only rates from minor to extreme, it also gives an explanation for each rating. Once you go to the sight, it will ask you if you want to financially support the website, but if you scroll down to the bottom, you can click No Thanks. Then, you will be prompted to the next page where you can click on Movies. The next page lists the movie and you can click on the movie in question. You might also check out pluggedinonline.com. It will give a search engine where you can type in the movie name. Then, it will prompt you to an explanation of the movie. I hope that this helps you.

I took my 4 year old to see Enchanted opening weekend, and she loved it. Her eyes never came off the screen. She talked about the evil step mother being mean, but it did not scare her. It is an excellent movie, one that I will add to our at home collection as soon as it comes out. And the best part is you will enjoy it as much as her!!

It's a cute movie. The dragon scene is a bit intense for young children (and quite stupid for older kids like me..haha).

However, I will probably end up buying it when it comes out on DVD. So, if you wait for it to come out on DVD, I don't think you'd be disappointed.

If you can't wait that long, then wait until it comes to the dollar theatres. Then if you have to get up and walk out, you won't have wasted that much money.

I took my 4 yr old and 2 yr old to see this movie and they loved it! Even my husband and I loved it! I didn't think that it was too scary and neither did they. If some parents think the dragon scene is too intense, it didn't last that long anyway. I say for sure see it in the theater, it's not too often that there are great family movies (even some G and PG family movies have inappropriate adult humor) This is for sure one of those great family movies, I would even go again!

We went to Ridgmar Movie Tavern so the kids could munch on popcorn and pizza, so that helps to keep them still!

I took our Girl Scout Troop to see it when it came out.
They are all 8 & 9 year olds with one 6 year old and it was hard for her to follow. I was worried it would be too boring for the older kids. If I had a 4 year old I would not take her to see it. Not enough animation to intrigue little ones.
I would wait to rent it if i were you--that way you do not blow a bunch of money at the movies. The witch in it is pretty scary for a little one especially at the end.

I took my 4 1/2 year old daughter a few weeks ago and she loved it. She did not take her eyes off the screen. I loved this movie and cant wait to have it on video. The ending is probably the scariest part for a child. However, I did not feel like it was too scary for her. For me, this movie made me remember how much fun it is to have a daughter.

I took my two girls, ages 3 and 5, to see it. They enjoyed it, though much was over their heads. No one was scared, but the end is a bit intense.
Both girls are happy to have seen it and excited when they see Giselle dolls and such.

I would say it depends on your 4 year old, if she doesn't scare easy and she sits well thru movies then she'll love it. Although some of it will be over her head she'd enjoy it just the same if like I said she sits thru movies and doesnt scare easy. Me and my sister went and we both enjoyed it and the next weekend my son who is in junior high had me take him with alot of his friends from school girls and boys plus when I went there were alot of teenagers its a movie every age is enjoying so if you want to wait and get it on dvd I'm sure it will be watched thru the years.

I took my two girls- 3 and 4. They loved and so did I. It was a very cute movie. My girls tell me when they are scared and I don't remember them telling me that they were scared. At times it has a lot of talking and somewhat boring at the beginning but it was still a great movie. We are going to see Alvin today..

I took 2 8 year olds last week and both of them were a little scared--plus there is some content that might not be appropriate...past that it was a really cute movie..but it doesn't take much to entertain me and I'm a romantic at heart!

take your daughter. Mine is 3 and she loved it.. However my daughter sits through movies and plays (theaters). But she really liked it...

Just remember that children have a short attention span! If you don't think she will sit through the movie, save your money and maybe take her somewhere else. You can also wait until the movie is on DVD. Well that's my opinion, Mother's know best!

It is a cute movie. I took my older girls and 4 year old son to see it and they all loved it. There is a part at the end that may be a little scary where the queen turns into a dragon. My son kind of sat closer to me during that part and hid his eyes, but didn't have any nightmares or thoughts about it after the movie ended. There really isn't any thing that I was concerned about as far as adult content.
