The Best Potty Book, Is There One You Can Recommend to Me to Learn By?

My oldest child (girl) is turning 3 this Sunday. She is a delayed speaker, but is starting a few sentences now. She crawled at 11 months and walked at 15.....so it hasn't surprised me that the potty thing is delayed also. I put her on the toilet with a childs seat on it and she loves to sit there, she will pull tiny bits of toilet tissue off at a time and flush it away saying, "bye-bye shooey!" I have let her be in there and watch me pee and wipe before, so I guess thats how she knows about toilet tissue. I have her a cute talking potty that she will sit on for awhile, but will NOT EVER pee in so I can praise her and let her know she did something GREAT. She got up the other day and went pee on the floor as soon as she got off her potty.
This is something I am just new to and absolutely don't have a clue on how to do it. I thought it would be natural and easy..
Any suggestions or books I can read?

Once Upon A Potty for Girls, and Everyone Poops are good for starters. There are many books, even at consignment shops. Three is not late for potty training. Nowadays between 2.5-3.5 is typical. If she likes to go on the floor then spread newspaper down over some garbage bags and let her go. It's no big deal. CHildren do not know or really care about etiquette. When you go out put on a diaper. She will get it I promise you that! Don't get caught up in what anyone says, she is learning and it takes time in many different ways of teaching. I would stay away from rewards though. When the prizes stop coming, the training stops.

Everyone Poops is a fun, cute book that gets kids to realize everyone poops, it's a natural thing, and it shows how kids use the potty.

Some people use small rewards to encourage their kids to use the potty. My sister gave her daughter a few m&ms each time she used the potty and it worked really well.

Natural and easy... hahaha! Sorry, I had to laugh at that. Even if she wasn't delayed, she would still give you grief in some way. I promise :)

check out Potty Training 1-2-3. It is by Gary Ezzo, I think. It is the same authors who wrote the Baby wise books.... don't worry, no crying involved with this :). It is a short quick read and I had my son who was 2yrs 8mos at the time potty trained with #1 in 2 days and #2 in about a week. Good luck!
