Thanksgiving Dinner

We're considering eating out for Thanksgiving this year. I'd love to hear suggestions for family friendly restaurants (preferable not a chain). We live in Chelmsford and would ideally like to find someplace within 30 minutes from here.

What can I do next?

Hi M.,

What about Princeston station in Chelmsford. Good Thymes in Lowell is good too. I'm not sure if either is even open on Thanksgiving but worth looking into. Good luck in your search.

Hello,

My husband and I and my son went to Cafe' Escadrille on Thanksgiving and what a spread! A lovely buffet and pretty reasonable. The food and desserts were a site! I HIGHLY recommend you go here and make a reservation. It is in Burlington not too far from Chelmsford. Good luck and let me know if you go there!

Hey,
I am not certain that they do Thanksgiving Day, but you might want to look into Gibbit Hill in Groton. I think it will be within that 1/2 hour (I guess depending which side of Chelmsford you'r on). It is in a beautiful farm setting and the food is great!

Good luck!

Sorry - also not really within 30 minutes, but The Old Mill in Westminster is worth the drive, just for the scenery. Plus they provide the leftovers from the bakery for the kids to feed to the many, many ducks. I would put the food as "good" but necessarily excellent. It is a long meal on Thanksgiving (several courses), so bring things to entertain the kids.

Hi M.,
My family eats out every year. We usually eat at Skips and the food is really good. I also recommend The Glenview or The Princeton as well. Make sure you call ahead and make sure they have room because believe it or not they are really busy on Thanksgiving Day. I believe all of them are open as well...at least for luncheon hours that is.
Good luck and let me know what you choose to do.

Hi M.,

A really nice restaurant that is actually in Chelmsford is Princeton Station. I would assume that they are open on Thanksgiving but you could give them a call. They are kid friendly and they can accomodate a big number of people. Good luck:)

It's not within a half an hour, but Warren's in Kittery Maine is a wonderful spot and after dinner you could go exploring some of the local natural attractions like Odiorne State Park in Rye NH and Fort McClary in Kittery and make a day of it. Your kid's ages would be perfect as long as you dress for the weather. Jackson's restaurant in Methuen on Rt 110 is also a really nice family run restaurant. I agree, stay away from the chains. Have a lovely holiday!

Hi,
The Common Man is great. I think you best make reservations, and try to be earlier in the day.
Good luck,
D.
