I did a high protein diet of 1200 calories a day. I lost ten pounds in 1 month. Nothing has ever worked for me. I finally listened to Jillian Michaels and took her advice and it worked. Good luck.
Hi there,
I have 10 lbs to lose after this last baby. My first was a c-section and I lost the weight quickly though never strengthened my stomach muscles. I gave birth about 4 months ago and I think I've lost whatever I'm going to lose naturally through nursing, etc, and the rest is up to me. I'm so grateful to have had my kids and normally wouldn't focus so much on the weight issue but I feel unhappy with my body and would like to at least try to shed those pounds. So, anyone have any secrets to success they want to share...not so much with diet but with excercise? What worked for you?
Thank you

Running.
Or a nice jog; anything to keep your heart rate up! I run for 30 minutes a day, and do a fast pace every time I walk, take the stairs if they're an option. c:
Stair are also a nice way to keep your heart rate up; and if you have them in your house then you're set!
Of course I also cut out unhealthy foods, which always helps.
Look into cardio interval type workouts. You do some strength training with bursts of cardio mixed in. You burn more calories, strengthen the heart quicker, and since you're building muscle you raise your resting metabolic rate, which burns more calories throughout the entire day. So this 2-3 times per week with some running on other days. The weight will come off quickly. I've been doing this and lost all 60 lbs of my baby weight in less than five months.
I second strength training - even if you don't lose a lot of weight it reshapes your body AND a pound of muscle burns 50 calories an hour - where I pound of "fat" only burns 5!
Good luck!
you can totally do it. i'd start walking/running every day. 30 minutes. i've done the couch to 5k app and it helps. i run at the local ymca... there is an outdoor track that goes around some soccer fields. i would set a goal... run to that goal post over there. then i'd walk to the next one... then run to the next... so on and so forth. mix it up. also... really, really cut back on the grain-based carbs. slow down on the bread, crackers, cereal, rice. drink lots of water and green tea.

The Couch-5K plan worked for me! You learn how to run 3 miles (or 30 minutes if you'd prefer to track time instead of mileage) in 8-9 weeks. You only need to do this 3 times/week, so it's totally doable.
Also, Bob Harper's Living Room fat-buster. It's only 30 minutes long...and it includes things like jumping jacks, sit-ups, push-ups, running in place, etc...it's fun (but make sure you wear shoes if you're doing it in the house so you don't hurt your feet). It's kind of like going to Boot Camp at a fitness club, but it's free. :)
Have fun and good luck!!!!
Fast walking an hour per day. I love it. It is therapy for me, too! Cut down on eating. That is the quickest way! Good luck to you!
I highly recommend the Jillian Michael/Bob Harper/Jackie Warner DVDs. Jillian Michaels has beginner DVDs (Beginner frontside and Beginner backside is what they are called). They can ease you into working out slowly. I recommend just requesting them from your library or trying to find used ones since you will move on from these pretty quickly Then you can move into her 30 day DVDs. Bob Harper ones are probably not the ones you want to start with - you can ease into them after working out for a while. Jackie Warner has a great one called Power Circuit Training. That is really a great DVD. You can start by doing just a few circuits and work your way up.
Good luck. I love these DVDs and I like to have a variety so I have a bunch of them from all these trainers.
BTW - I just saw that Jackie Warner is coming out with a new DVD in March called 10lbs in 10 days - who knows whether her DVD will really deliver that but hey - worth a try ;)
Stick to whole foods, realistic exercise routines and counting calories. Check out "Lose It!" either for your phone or computer. It's a program which makes counting calories super easy and let's you figure out how many you should be eating to loose weight in a healthy way.
