Does anyone own a Tempurpedic mattress? If so, would you recommend getting one? Where is the best place to purchase one? How much would a queen size cost? I don't know much about them and would appreciate receiving feedback (positive or negative). Thanks in advance.

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for the feedback. After doing some research and shopping around, my husband and I decided to purchase the Tempurpedic Cloud mattress set and I must say we couldn't have made a better choice. I don't wake up at night like I used to and I don't even hear my husband get out of bed in the morning. As far as the smell goes, it did have a smell when we first got it, but the smell goes away.

I NEED a new mattress!! The Tempurpedic ones are nice. For a queen I am pretty sure I have only seen them for $1000+. I believe there is one called the cloud -- I want it SO bad! But there are often sales at mattress stores. Not so much on the name brand but there are plenty of mattresses that are just as awesome. But I am also talking about the $1000+ because I want to invest in an amazing mattress..hope that helped a bit.

We bought our king size about a year ago for $4500? ish? It wasn't the top of the line nor the cheapest, kinda middle of the line. I think we got ours at Mattress Firm? It sounds expensive, but for us the ability to get a restful sleep is worth it.
I've heard people comment about the smell, which I didn't notice. As far as it being 'warm' I would disagree with that too. I normally am very hot blooded AND menopausal so I should be able to tell you! I wouldn't say it's hard to get out of, it's just different.
And the last springs mattress we bought, 13-15 years before was probably $2500 and we thought that was bad at the time.

I have one and we LOVE it- I did a lot of reasearch and found that people that had problems with sink holes and such were with off brands- not the Tempupedic so be careful- it may be worth the money. Tempurpedic has a 10 year- maybe even 20 can't remember that will replace it if it looses shape by more than 3/4 of an inch. My husband has less back problems since we've had ours- we really do love it. It was an investment and actually we were really lucky- my Mom bought ours for an anniversary present- queen size- $2000.

Do yourself a favor and check into savvy rest too. We were strongly considered a tempurpedic bc I have fibromyalgia and wake up in a lot of pain. Reviews from fibro sufferers on temperpedic mattresses were not favorable. Many people complaine about how hot the beds slept, the offgassing of chemicals that occurs causng headaches, allergic reactions, immune problem. My sister has one and she and her husband are larger and complaining of sagging.

I was looking for a nontoxic option for my daughter and came across savvy rest. Not only did we buy one for daughter, but we invested in a king for ourselves. Pricey, but hopefully a wrthwhile investment. I have never slept better, really helps my stiffness and pain. Husband and I don't wake one another up bc it doesn't transfer motion. And our 2.5 year old who hates sleep, sleeps like a sweet little angel on hers. I would recomend finding a store to try it out. We went two different tmes. The best feature is the bed is split in half with 3 layers of all natural laxtex on each side. You can customize it. My husband's s much firmer than mine. Good luck!

we have a queen size and it was expensive. we got the tempurpedic brand. we do not like it. my husband and i wake up with backaches all the time. its too soft - we needed something more firm. i wish we had gone with one that was surrounded by the regular mattress material. seemed to give a bit more support. the only foam one does not. we cant do much about it though because it was so expensive so we're not going to get rid of it.

I worked for a hotel that had them and had the opportunity to sleep on one a few times- they are heaven! Absolute heaven! My hubby and I are saving for one right now. I did hear some complaints from guests though, as follows: too firm, too warm, difficult to get out of. But that was it, and it was a black and white issue- you either love it or hate it, no gray area.

I think a Deluxe Queen (which is just one step up from their "regular" style, I believe) size runs about 2500, but I'm not sure if that includes the base and a cover. It goes up from there as they have several different models. You should just check out their website they have prices and such right there. You may be able to get one on sale at a local mattress store, but I think they're typically excluded from special promos. I'd call and ask a rep.

When I stayed a few nights at a friend's house I slept on one and LOVED it. Since my husband and I were going to get a king size bed for our new house anyway, we decided to get a memory foam mattress. I looked at tempurpedic (which is what I originally slept on) but they were quite expensive (ranging from about $2000-$5000 depending on style/size). So we opted for some other brand of memory foam. I got it from walmart.com and paid about $650. It is not *quite* as luxurious as the tempurpedic, but I still think it is incredibly comfortable and love it. We have had it for a little over a year and it is just as nice now as it was when we got it. The complete lack of "bounce" seemed strange at first and took a little getting used to, but I wouldn't trade my mattress for anything. I would say definitely test some out at a store to make sure it is right for you, there are a few people who just don't like them ( but I think they are crazy! lol). Happy shopping!

We have had a Tempurpedic for over 10 yrs. Buy the original Tempurpedic brand. I have seen them for sale on Craigslist because people either love them or hate them.
