Highlands Teething Tablets were the ONLY thing that worked for my son. They are the best creation in the world. They can be found in any pharmacy. Just follow the directions on the bottle.
Hi All, my 5 month old has begun teething. He's been drooling for months but now, for the past two days, he's been in pain and cranky. We've been using a teether toy and a cold, wet washcloth to help (besides infant Tylenol). Is there anything else you know of that we'll relieve our little guy's gums? We feel so bad for him, he's usually a very happy baby but, when those gums hurt he's miserable. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, C.!
My daughter started teething at four months...isn't that crazy?! She's six months old now and has four teeth (our other daughter didn't have teeth until around 7 months, so this was new for us to happen so early). I'm not a big pill fan, so what has gotten us through is frozen carrots and celery sticks. They get super yucky when she's finished knawing on them...lol...but she loved it! Along with washcloths and teething toys. We did give her Tylenol at night, too. Hang in there and good luck!
I would recommend baby orgel the nighttime one used for daytime..put it on your finger or q tip and rub it on the gums,it only last for a few minutes but by then the pain is gone and the baby will be asleep or playing....trust me on this one.
try giving him frozen waffles or bagels to gnaw on (obviously watching so no big chunks come off in his mouth)...they seem to like how the consistency changes and how it has an interesting flavor...also, you can buy these pacifier-kind-of things that have a little net sack instead of a nipple (so they cant swallow anything) and you can fill it with some frozen fruit chunks to suck on,,,the new consistencies and flavors take their minds off the hurt.
good luck :)
I have a friend whose a vegan and into all natural remedies, she introduced me to Hyland's teething tablets. They are all natural and help with the crankiness and pain from teething. It has worked great for me and my three kids, I'm actually still using it on my third. You can buy it at Target,Publix, most drugstores in the baby aisle. Good luck!
I use the teething tablets. You can pick them up at any pharmacy or grocery store. Good luck!!!
Ask your pharmacist for Humphrys #3 - it needs to be speical ordered but is an over the counter product. Humphreys #3 Teething/Infants is a homeopathic preparation for teething. Works wonders. I've used it with all 3 of my children and highly recommend it. It won't irrate the gums like oragel.
We were lucky - my sons teeth came in basically two at a time and they came in pretty quick. He would get crabby and be crabby and droll for a couple days and it would be over. His bigger back teeth were the worst though, they took longer and he also started spiking a fever and it was rough - the only thing I found that made him a little less cranky was the homopathic teething tablets. I was so reluctant at first because I hated to put a "pill" in his mouth, but I did it myself and they disolve almost instantly and dont taste too bad.
I have to tell you my other trick that helped him feel better, it sounds crazy, but he really did love it, I used his electric toothbrush on the area where the tooth was coming in, and just let the toothbrush massage the area - he loved it! Oh - and this last time, I gave him a pedilyte pop - he really liked that too. Hope this helps some :) J.
My son use to love gnawing on cold fruit, grapes, strawberries, apples, you name it! I would put them in a mesh netting container and he would just chew and drool and make such a mess but he loved it and it made him so happy. I bought the container at Babies R Us but Im sure you can get them at any grocery store in the baby isle.
Good Luck!
Hylands teething tablets helps for us.... You can get them right at Publix, target, etc...
yes! to hylands teething tablets :-)
also, a frozen carrot stick- he can't choke on it- keep an eye out/supervise when giving it
I dont know if someone already suggested this already but there is this brand of teething "medicine" called "hylands Teething Tablets". They are homeopathic which is really nice because if you are like me who really doesnt want to give my child tylenol all day so they arent drowsy (I give it to her at night) then these are great. I heard it from one of my friends and thoght they were CRAZY!!! Then i said what the heck i will give it a try and was shocked to see her go from screaming and cranky to smiling in like 30 seconds. The best place to get them is Walmart...they have them at the other places but walmart gives you a big huge bottle for 6 dollars while everywhere else gives you a small bottle for the same price...hope that helps!!!!
