One of my twins sprouted his first tooth two days after his first birthday. His sister got her first tooth about a month or so before him. Yes, it's normal.

My son didn't have a tooth in his head until he was 14 months--in one week, he cut 4 teeth and learned how to walk, and we've been running ever since! : )

Perfectly normal. My daughter didn't get hers until she was almost 11 months old, then I swear I think they all came in at one time. Teething was a breeze for us!

My daughter did not get her first tooth until she was 15 months old! She is a happy, healthy 9 year old now and her teeth are fine and normal. :)

Just wanted to reply that my daughter did not have a tooth in her head until she was 11 months old. My older daughter had teeth at 5 months. I am the grandmother of 8 and I can tell you they are all different.

Totally normal. All kids get them in their own time, just some take longer.

I wouldn't worry. My now 16mth old daughter didn't get her first tooth until she was about 10.5 months. She is 16 mths and has 6 top teeth and 4 bottom teeth and working on one more bottom tooth right now. I have heard that the older a child is when they first start teething the better their teeth will be, I even asked my dentist this and he agreed with me. So I wouldn't worry. I am sure she is working on some right now.

My daughter didn't get her first tooth until a week or two before her first birthday. I didn't get my first tooth until 14 months or so. My niece was something like 22 months before she got her first--the pediatrician said he wouldn't be worried until she was two.

My dentist also agreed that later teeth can mean healthier teeth.

Hi J.:

No worries :) My 3 didn't get teeth until after the first year mark! My oldest (now 13) got his first tooth at 15 months, my middle one (now 10) got his at 14 months, and my youngest (now 7) was the earliest clocking in her first pearly white at 13 months. They ALL have wonderful teeth, cleanings are a breeze and NEVER a cavity! (We are pretty adamant about brushing though - flossing - well that's a constant (losing!) battle around here!) So don't worry.

Word of caution, the fact that they got their teeth later than their peers does mean that they will probably lose baby teeth later than their peers, but that's not a concern either since that range is so wide, unless it's brought up, their peers don't really notice...my 7 year old still has mostly baby teeth still :)

Hope it helps! You are a wonderful grandma to be so concerned :)

God bless,

M.
