Good morning all,
My 10-month old daughter is going through teething with her top teeth and I noticed that with the one that has broken through she is grinding it on her bottom teeth. Is this normal and is there anyway to stop it?

What can I do next?

My son did that too, she's just looking for something hard to bite to give her top teeth some relief. Once the teeth come in she'll stop. You can try to give her other things to bite, but my son never liked teething rings. He did like to bite his sippy cup and hard plastic toys (and most recently my iPhone that I keep having to keep away from him)...
Teething is a tough time, the molars are the worst. Hang in there!

normal. give her a wash cloth cloth that has been wet and frozen.may want to give her some bitters biscuts also to chew on. if she is in pain give her some infant tylenol. sounds like she already got through the hard part. my son used to like chewing on slim jims when he was teething. good luck.

Unfortunately there isn't any way to stop it. My 15-month-old still does it when she teeths. I think in a way they are just getting a feel for the new teeth. It still makes my stomach turn when I hear it, but there's really nothing you can do.

As annoying as this is, it is completely normal. Just imagine if a new tooth popped out in your mouth - I bet you would be trying to figure out what it was too! :) Don't worry, it will end eventually. In the meantime, just give her things to chew on that are safe when she starts to grind. That will be as satisfying to her as grinding her teeth.

Totally normal and it is the worst sound. My DD did it when her front teeth were coming in too and there were days where I had to move to another room or drown it out by making noise some other way it was that bad. Unfortunately there isnt too much that you can do. I always tried to give her something else to chew on to try to stop the grinding but it would only last a few seconds before she would throw the toy down and continue grinding. It will pass though
Good Luck
