I have the mesh feeder also, its great and safe. My 10 mo. Son loves it! You can put anything in it, ice, cold/frozen fruit, frozen juice, whatever. I got mine at target or wal-mart, for like $4.
My one year old daughter is teething to the point where she wants to bite down on EVERYTHING, including tires on cars! I can only imagine how irritable she may feel. I have tried the basics, but they are not working. Does anyone have any home remmadies?

Have you tried wetting a washcloth and putting it into the freezer so it is nice and cold? Tylenol, orajel, and there is an herbal teething remedy that were small chewable tablets that worked really well.
Hi, my daughter used something called "grip water". We found it at a health food store and it seemed to work. When my children were young I tried ice in cloth diapers and let them suck away. I hope this helps.

both my kids loved this, got it from my mom...take a washcloth and put crushed ice in the center, then secure it with a rubber band, then wet the outside a little with water. my kids would chew on it until all the ice inside was melted then ask for more! it's cheap and easy! just don't forget to keep orajel on her gums and tylonol helps if she is having trouble sleeping...
I have six children and would not live without teething tablets from the pharmacy... they use to be called humphreys but that may just be the brand.. they are from a plant and you can give them three or four and there safe... good luck lisauselton.myarbonne.com L.
Have you done the Hylands Teething Tablets? I had never even heard of those until I got on this web-site. Maybe its all in my head but, I can tell the difference when the kid has or hasnt had them. I was a little turned off to the Baby Orajel. I never could get past the thought of her swallowing that stuff.

There are several options - you can offer her a wet washcloth (a very fluffy type with lots of squishiness so she can really bite down on it), frozen teethers (the little teething rings are 3 for approx $3 at Wal-Mart), using Hylands teething tablets are helpful too. Lots of biter biscuits or biscotti. I found several recipes for biscotti online and you can make several batches fairly cheaply just cut down on the amount of sugar and they are similar to the baby teething biscuits. There are no easy roads for them unfortunately. We have twins and when they are both fussing, it is just rough, period.
I did find a good use for their pacifiers (since they did not like to use them normally, the babies enjoyed chewing on them when they are teething.
Good luck!

My Childrens Dr. said something tough like beef jerky. you have to watch them because it gets soft and they could swollow it or choke on it. I used rawhide the dogs teething bones, i know it doesn't sound right but both my kids cut four teeth at a time and had all there teeth including molars by the time they were 9months old. rawhide is tough and it helps push the teeth through instead of slowing the growth with numbing adjents and freezing thier pore little mouthes. my boys never cried or fussed because they always had a piece of rawhide to chew on then as quickley as they started teething they were done. rawhide is also alot cheaper than all the other reamedies if that's what you call them.
A lady at my church suggested a piece of blue jean material or a raw potato to me. Her kids are all in jr. high or older and don't seem to have had any adverse reactions to it. I haven't tried either yet since my little one's not quite there. Good luck!
Try Hurricaine. It comes in a small tub, and is a very thick gel consistency. It doesn't taste great, but is fast, effective and lasts quite a while. You generally have to ask for it at the pharmacy window, as it's a little expensive, so they don't stock it on the shelves.
I have 4 kiddos and the youngest is 9 months old. I used homeopathic teething tablets too for the others. There are some drops you can get -- I forget what they are called -- but they are in the same section as the teething stuff in the store. They have a Disney theme on the front of the box & bottle. Those have worked great.
Another thing that I do that provides immediate relief is an essential oil that I get direct from the manufacturer. They have strict policies about putting their name out on a message board like this, I know - it seems weird. Anyways, this oil has given all of my children IMMEDIATELY relief from their teething pain. I remember one night when my 6 year old was a baby, she woke up screaming in pain and I grabbed the oil and put a tiny bit on her gums and within seconds she was calm and went back to sleep. It really has been a life saver.
You can't use the oil combined with the homeopathic drops or tablets. The smell from any essential oils will interfere with how the homeopathic medicine works.
I love using the oil because it provides immediate relief. The drops - at least from my kids - seem to take a little longer.
I hope that helps! And if anyone is interested in the oil I mentioned, you'll need to send me an email -- ____@____.com
Have a great day!!
If you try whole foods or central market in the homeopathic section you should find teething pills. They are dissolvable small white pills that worked well for me and they don't contain asprin or tylenol. Good luck.

I have 8 month old twins. A boy and a girl who are both teething.Have you tried teething tablets. you can buy them at wal-mart. they work fast, are very small, and dissolve almost instantly on their tounge. They will help your baby sleep too.
I bought a fresh pineapple one day and as I was cutting it up my teething son "stole" the hard core. He chewed on that thing for hours. It must have felt good. There is little acid in the core, it won't shred, and it has some flavor. It was a godsend. You decide how long to use it before buying another. Hope this helps.
have you tried a pice of leather the kind u buy at a craft store (real leather)
I didn't read all of your responses but I would like to suggest something that worked well with my first. Frozen peas in a ziploc bag, double or triple bag if she is a big time chewer. She loved it and it worked faster than the tablets or advil, we just went everywhere with her holding a bag of peas untill they thawed then she would be done with them.
Good luck!! This to shall pass!!!
give her teething tablets that can be found at cvs, walmart, heb etc. its a white bottle with light pink and light blue. you put them under their tongue and they dissolve right away seriously. they made my now 7 yr old calm down and now i am using them for my 5 month old that is teething!! thanks A.

Some things I do for my 1y old ds who is teething
-frozen grapes cut into about 10 little pieces (to avoid choking
-frozen green peas.
these are both easy to mash with gums and the cold feels good.
Hyland's Teething Tablets worked wonders for my dd, but not so much ds. They are homeopathic, so they work a little differently for everyone.

Have you tried the homeopathic teething pills? There are several types on the market, we used Hylands. We used them all the way through my daughters teething and they were awesome especially at night time.
You can buy teething tablets at CVS and they work great. They are all natural and they dissolve in their mouths, so you don't have to fight with them like when you put on the orajel. I believe they are near the toothpaste and stuff for little ones.
I was brought up on a peice of leather that is clean but untreated. It worked wonders for my daughter.
We went through that with my grandson..nothing was safe..we used the teething tablets, orajel and also Tylenol when it got bad. The Tylenol helped with the teething pain so it was better.
Hylands teething tabs are the best.
We used Hyland's teething tablets. You can get them at most grocery stores. They worked great for us.
Hylands Teething Tablets - you can get them at Central Market, Whole Foods or Sun Harvest. The disolve on the mouth and sooth teething discomfort. The vitamin expert at the store can tell you all about them. I heard about them from my neighbor who has FIVE children (she is the pro).
Best wishes!
Have you tried wetting a wash cloth, get the extra water out then freeze until icy not frozen and let her bite on it. It will ease the pain.
Personally, I wouldn't use the tablets without first researching all the ingredients. I'm pretty sure they have toxins in them. I would only give my child a natural remedy. I'd also avoid the Oral gels. There are bad things in them as well, and they don't even really work. They only numb for very short periods of time.
I will second the frozen grapes and veggies and whatever else you can let her chew on. This will pass soon! :-)
At Babies R us you will find a little thing called a "Mesh Bag Feeder" they are by the kids utensils and sippy cups. Buy one and put Ice cubes or frozen fruit in it. They cant get anything out of it so they wont choke and the coldness kinds numbs it a little and gets them something solid yet flexible to get the teeth through with. No medicine and even a little healty if you use frozen fruit. and super convient, you could stop an any store and be able to find a couple of ice cubes. The only down fall was the mess of druleing and melted Ice or fruit. Good Luck...Just remember THIS TO SHALL PASS.
