Hi E.,
Does your son like animals? Young kids can make good money at having their own dog-walking business. He could put up fliers and tell all of your neighbors. Good exercise and some extra money. Good luck!

I have a 13 year old who wants a job, but at this age it seems you can't really find anything. He is a boy which seems to be harder to get jobs like babysitting. And most of our neighbors have lawn servcie so there aren't really any lawns he could take care of. Any other ideas? I want to keep him busy this summer. Thanks.

What about a volunteer job just to get the experience? A lot of non profit orgainzations love to have/need volunteers. When I was that age I volunteered at a summer day camp for low income families. I LOVED IT. Otherwise in most places you have to be 15 to get a job.
Check with your local library, sometimes they will pay a small fee to help restocking books ect. You could also check with local business offices and see if he could do any help with filing or what not. Also Real Estate offices like to pay kids to place fliers around the neighborhood. And of course there is the paper boy idea. If he is really good in school or a particular subject, he could do some summer tudoring.
Good luck!

I know California Kids in Rocklin is looking for someone to do sign spinning on the weekends, at the corner of Lonetree and Blue Oaks Blvd., you may want to check with them. ###-###-####.
I don't know what there is in your area, but camp Counselor in Training is a volunteer camp counselor position and keeps them quite busy. It's great prep for real work.
