Tattooed Mama's...

Ever get a tattoo on top of a bruise? IT SUCKS!! I'm going today to start my other arm... this will be the THIRD TIME tattooing over a fresh bruise. I'm so mad at myself. I have no idea what I did, but I'm dreading this. Only me!

You ladies with tattoos know that the placement and thought that goes into big tattoos means a lot. I've wanted this for a while. BUT... since I'm bruised and I really don't want to reschedule (my guy is 6 months out!)... I'm wondering if I should move this piece from my arm to my ribcage (my only thing there is, I couldn't wear a bra while it's healing, and MY ladies need some support!)

So what to do? Tattoo over the bruise? Move it to the rib cage? Scrap the idea and work on another piece while I wait?

What would YOU do?

(Please no negative comments on tattoos... I'm looking to hear from those of you who have been through this!)

Thanks :D

So What Happened?

Already said I can't reschedule; I've waited 6 months for this day!!

MegandOllie... good luck!

CHERYL!!... stop tempting me, I'm 'working', LOL!! We really need to get together this summer! :)

I'm really just being a total girl about this bruise... like the tattoo itself doesn't hurt enough ;)

OKAY so my tattoo guy called and moved me to Saturday... he wants me to come in and see what he's already drawn and re-measure my arm (he's as picky and particular as I am!)... so YAY! That took care of itself :)

Don't move it. If you have a different tat for a dif area already in mind and you are fine with having that done, I would consider it. Otherwise, I would suck it up and go for it.

Your guy is six months out...Can you be put on his cancellation list if something opens up?? Might be last minute but stuff happens and people need to cancel. Good luck!

I say, suck it up and do it :)
You planned it where you planned it. If you move it at this point, you might regret it later. You're a tough cookie.
I'm getting my fourth tat next month and can't wait!!

If you are bruising easily or don't know how you got the bruise - please go to your doctor and get checked out!!!

I love LOOKING at tattoos...don't have any - already gave you my view on why I won't.

I personally would either move it or scrap the idea until the bruise goes away...you want to be able to enjoy it...as long as the bruise is there you won't be able to!!

So are you coming up?!

I would re-schedule or like you said work on something different while it heals. That sounds like it would be PAINFUL on top of a bruise.
Hopefully I will be getting my first tattoo soon!! Super excited!!

Honestly, I would wait to get this particular tattoo because of the bruise. You wouldn't want it to look funny or heal improperly. If you have another tat in mind---why don't you have him do that instead? Then schedule while you are there for a follow up appt with him to do the one you really want. GL!!!!

if you got it on your ribcage, would it have to be wear your bra would rub it? could it be a little lower? i don't know how big you are talking about. my tattoos are on my lower back and i could still wear jeans, etc i didn't get my tattoos while having a bruise, so i don't know how bad it would hurt, but i would say that if it's tolerable, go ahead and do it on your arm. also think if you would look at it on your ribcage and regret getting it there. if it was me, and i wanted it on my arm, i would probably get it on my arm. only hurts while they are doing it, right?

I have 4 and I'd have to say suck it up, girl! They hurt like hell anyway, what's a little more temporary pain?! :)
Is the bruise huge and deep to where it will really make that big of a difference? If so, then hold off on this one and get something else done but don't move it to your rib cage just so you can get it done. You know where you want it and where it needs to go...
while we're on the topic......I am getting my 5th in July. It will be a lady-bug, in honor of my SD. I have one on my hip, my oldest sons on the inside of my left heal, my youngest sons on the inside right ankle and a pink daisy on my left big toe. Any suggestions as to where I should put my lady bug??? I am stumped!

I would reschedule!! I can only imagine how much it would hurt to tattoo over a bruise. I have 4 and some of them. I dated a guy who was tattooed in a lot of spots, and had an arm sleeve and half of his other arm done as well. He had two little dots in the middle of his chest. I asked him what they were from and he said that when he went in to get his tattoo there they started and it hurt so bad he decided not to get it done there. I can only imagine that your rib cage would hurt A LOT as well. You really wanted it done on your arm so I would wait until your arm is better and get it there. You may not like it on your rib cage.
