I have a friend who was diagnosed with SLE 20 years ago when she was in her early 20's. She had two flare-ups, one in her mid 20's, and the second in her early 30's. She had 3 fairly textbook pregnancies in her mid to late 30's without any flare-ups. She is now in her early 40's and doing fine with three healthy children ages 8, 6 and 3. I suppose it all depends on how SLE is affecting you and what meds you are taking that could cause problems with a pregnancy. If you don't like the advice your doctor is giving you, get a second or third opinion and then make the best decision for yourself. You are still very young and have many good years ahead of you to make beautiful babies! Good luck! :)
