Hello All, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a facility that offers swimming lessons in the fall and winter. I have looked in the Olathe and Johnson County Parks and Rec. catalogs, I'm just wondering if there are more out there that I don't know about.

Don't know where exactly you are, but I can second the Matt Ross Community Center in old downtown Overland Park (80th & Metcalf). Their lessons are indoors, $40 for 8 30-minute lessons, and the class sizes are limited. I know for the younger kids, they only allow 6 per teacher, and my son really got over his fear of the water! We're going to put him in the next level this Sept., as soon as MRCC opens new lessons. We really like them.
Elite Gymnastics and Aquatics at 108th and Pflumm. It is great we have been going there for a few years now everyone is very nice.
The Olathe YMCA at 151st and K7 offers lessons year round.
There is a place called McCrackens Swim and Gymnastics. It's located near 151st and Ridgeview. It is very well known. My nephew just finished up a two week swim lesson course there. My sister said it was GREAT!

Check the YMCA in your area. We've done swimming at the Y and it is all indoors so I imagine they do it year-round.
Matt Ross Community center in OP should be offering them also. They did last winter.
Dales fitness center in Lenexa. The fee for a non-member is a little more than a member. Same with all the YMCA's.
68's Inside Sports is a great place for lessons. It used to be called Dale's. It's located just south of 87th Street between 69 hwy. and I-35. They have really great teacher:student ratios.

If you don't mind driving to Lawrence, I believe the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center offers lessons during the fall and/or winter.

Midwest Aquatics is a great place out in south overland park. They are just west of Old metcalf off of 159th. My daughter went there for a couple of years and is a fish!

Midwest Aquatics, ###-###-####, is located on 159th and Metcalf. They have year-round swimming lessons. My two year old son has gone there since he was 6 months old and is now able to swim by himself in the 13'. I highly recommend them.

There is also a place called Elite Gymnastics and Aquatics. I took my kids there several years ago and was very pleased with the small class sizes. Their website is www.elitegymaq.com . It's at 108th and Pflumm.
