Hi Ladies,

I am dropping off my niece's favorite homemade cookies at her house tomorrow along with a gift for her 16th birthday. The problem is that I don't know what "the gift" is yet! Can you help me? She is also my goddaughter. She is a sweetheart! I really don't want to get her a gift card. I would rather get her something more personable that she could have as a keepsake. She has some charm bracelets and birthstone neclaces already. Her dad (my brother) is taking her to get her licenses after school tomorrow and I thought it would be cool if the gift had something to do with getting her licenses. My brother was recently looking at buying her a used car. So maybe something for the car.... but I guess that wouldn't be a keepsake type of gift. (I'm guessing that my SIL got her a nice key chain to go with her "big" present. I want to limit my spending to $75.

Please help me some ideas since I have waited last minute to go shopping tomorrow for this. Thank you so much for your time:-)
Joy

I am in the same boat my daughter is turning 16 too.. So I would just look at what she likes to do.. Is she a clothes freak (buy her the 1 outfit she has wanted or purse etc) as for something keepsake for a car nothing comes to mind.. The only suggestion I could say is take her & let her pick all the car accessories (like seat covers, steering wheel cover etc..)Sorry no more helpful but with out knowing the typw of girl she is it's hard.. Maybe a wallet of her choice to carry her new license in..

Does she have an IPOD or Zune or other Mp3 player? You could get her the attachment that goes from your car stereo to your player...so she will have her own music? Maybe bundle it with some fuzzy dice or something? Purses/bags are always cool! I think if you go to a jewelry store you could get her a small pair of diamond studs for around that price?

A Coach wristlet or mini skinny would be a cute 'holder' for her new license. "Waverly Hearts" is a young design, in my opinion.

I would get her something "little" like a cute bracelet or something else personal and wrap it with a $50 gas card. I know that you are not a fan of doing a gift card, but believe me, those were my girls' favorite present when they turned 16! Or, you could do a $30 gas card, a $20 movie theatre gift card (she needs someplace cool to drive to) and a small personal gift.

Good luck!

I love the iPod accessoriy idea. Also the cute bracelet with a gas card.
Mine is 15 tomorrow, I think I am stealing the iPod idea. :o)

All I can think of is when I was that age, I was always needing gas to drive around. I would probably get her some cool shades a couple of car wash certificates & cash for gas money. Nothing keepsake, but those memories.
