I've been a member for several years. I did a lot when I first started. Usually earned 4 or 5 $5 Amazon gift cards per month. Got too much going on now and don't spend as much time on it tho. Free money is free money tho! :)
Mamas & Papas-
Do any of you use swagbucks? This is not a veiled promotion, its a genuine question. Came across a link to it on one of these frugal ideas webpages. If you have used it, did it work for you? Were you able to amount "swag bucks"? did you get gift cards with the bucks? any tips to someone just starting out?
Thanks,
F. B.

I do it. I've probably gotten over $200 in Amazon gift cards in the last couple years without spending a dime.
Most of the time, I just use the search function through their toolbar. I am able to earn about one $5 Amazon gift card each month (450 points). Sometimes I will check if there are special codes out, which usually get you 4-8 points each.
Occasionally, I will do surveys or special offers to get large amounts of bucks, but usually I don't have the time or the desire to do it.

I did it for a little while, but my email got soooooo spammed out that I had to quit doing it and change email addresses. Just wasn't worth the $5 gift cards! In hindsight, I'd set up a separate gmail account and then maybe try it that way.
I did it for awhile and it was a lot of work. I did end up getting $10-15 worth of amazon gift cards over the course of a few months, but for me, it wasn't worth the effort.
I did it for a bit here and there over the years. I used the winnings to get Amazon gift cards. I purchased many things from xmas gifts to necessities at various points. It was worth it when I felt like putting all the time in because it does take quite a bit of time and effort to amount enough SBs to be able to redeem for certain things. The success of the site depends on how much time and effort you put into it.
I use swagbucks and since I've started, I've cashed in for over 300 dollars in Amazon gift cards. I average about 10 bucks a month by doing nothing more than using their toolbar to search.
It is absolutely legit...just make sure you don't do 10 searches in a row or search for nonsense things, or search for common websites (amazon, youtube, etc) or they will flag you for misuse.
If you are interested in making more money (er...gift cards, rather) in this way I have a ton of sites I use. Feel free to pm me.
I've tried various "reward sites." While it is easier to earn Swagbucks, it still takes me a long time. You can earn them watching their short videos, but you've got to watch 10 to get 2 Swagbucks. You do get 1 or 2 for answering the daily poll. I never got any for searching, so I use Goodsearch instead for my searches. They give a penny per search to your fav charity, so my son's school gets money from the searches I do on Goodsearch. (At least somebody benefits.) I still use Swagbucks for playing games or watching their videos, because I can see what I've earned. I've tried Opinion Outpost, eRewards, etc. and the problem with those is that they put you through an initial profile survey to see if you qualify for the actual survey, but I usually don't qualify so I waste my time in filling out the first part of the survey for 10 min.! Don't like long surveys either.
A quick google search found this ....
