So I decided to throw my son a surprise party. He just turned 12yo.Its gonna be a friend party no family. Any suggestions on how to keep a bunch on 12yo entertained? Any party games or different ideas to make this a big birthday bash?

What can I do next?

having a bunch of 12 yr olds keep a secret is going to be the trick! How about going to laser tag or go-kart races. You could do a video game tournament.

We did a scavenger hunt for my daughters 12th birthday. you may have seen my post on it. I warned the neighbors we were coming the morning of and we set aside a time to arrive house to house. We had a list of items to ask for, rubber band, earaser, empty box ect.... and went from there. They had a great time.

The game Catch Phrase is a great game and I think they have a kid version.

You could do a treasure hunt in your yard and barry a treasure of snacks. Make a map and give clues....

Another fun thing is to get everyone involved to make their own pizza.

I LOVE party games! Even for 12 year old boys!

1. Minute to Win it - my kids LOVED this one. You can find many easy to set up games on the web. We set up 5 stations around the room so that it was more engaging, more kids could be participating at one time. They moved around to the different stations and then we recorded their yeses or nos (if they completed the challenge or not). I had a timer and everyone worked the challenge for the same minute. More details if you PM me...to much to type!

2. Video game challenge - Wii or whatever game system you have. Set up a tournament.

3. Photo scavenger hunt (digital camera or phone cameras work great). You can get many off the net.

video games are great. At that age, my son/friends were still doing SingStar....which is passe now. :)

we still play rowdy versions of party games. Hit the web for great ideas!
Truth or Dare is always popular with teens....as long as you supervise! I usually have a pile of suggestions for them.

Set up a scavenger hunt thru the yard...or house.

Have a table full of snacks thru the night. These boys will EAT. Lots to drink, too.

My 15yo is planning his party for New Year's Eve....I want to run away!
