I want to take some portraits of my girls in their Easter dresses and am looking for a location in or near the NW suburbs. I need a place that is well lit by natural light (lots of windows) and be fairly kid friendly (they are busy 2.5 yr olds) and also have something decent for backgrounds. I am thinking perhaps an arboretum or some type of indoor garden but it doesn't have to be, that's the only thing that comes to mind for me. I know there is one at Como zoo but don't want to drive all the way across town just to get some pictures so am wondering if there is a place in the NW suburbs that would do (I live on NE Plymouth) Any ideas?

What about the indoor garden at the sculpture garden at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. I imagine at this time of year they have some beautiful flower displays to take pictures in front of and it is always nice and warm!
I would suggest a nursery, like Bachmanns.
It's not filled with plants, but I was thinking the stairway at the Edinburgh Golf club in Brooklyn Park (85th Ave between Noble and 252). As you enter the building there are two stairways and I've always thought they'd be good for pictures. Also, what about Ridgdale Shopping mall? Bachman's? An antique store?
How about the Minnesota Landscape Arboreteum(sp?) in Chanhassen off of Hwy 41. There is an indoor area with big windows and it's beautiful. Just thought of another place...Edenborough in Edina is a perfect place...waterfalls, flowers and a big indoor gym...
I have a very good friend who is a fantastic photographer and is great with kids. She had two girls herself. She did my family portraits last christmas with our entire family 7 kids and 13 adults and they turned out so great! We had a hard time choosing which poses we wanted and ended up buying several. What about the Childrens Museum in St Paul? I got some great pict there of my son a few years ago. I'd bring a change of clothes if you're fussy about the dresses.
