OMG!!!! My 11 yr old son went to his great aunts yesterday was in the pool all day. He is in such pain he is shivering! When he went to bed @ 10 pm he was sort of fine I gave him 2 advil and 1 benedryl to help him sleep. He woke up at 2AM BLISTERS COVERINLL 90% OF HIS BACK , ARMS, and some on his chest…I think I'm just bring him to the ER. Just checked and his temperature in mouth is 98.9.I am thinking of waiting for ER.???? What should I do?
Don't wait to the E.R. now...hope he is better soon...The aunt needs her A - - KICKED!!!!
You may want to call his pediatrician and speak to a nurse. Maybe they could phone in some medicine for pain relief. Poor boy!!
I know this is after the fact, but sun poisoning is real. If your child has blisters, you need to take him to the ER and I'm hoping you did.
I'd also send the bill to his great aunt who is the idiot who allowed him to stay in the water with little or no sunscreen.
I hope he's ok.
I agree with taking him in, but I would start by calling the pediatrician first. You may get faster care there than sitting at the ER all day. He definitely needs medicine and will have to be careful to avoid infection and stay out of any sun for a while.
So sorry for him. Hope he feels better soon.
