D..
Can they touch up the portrait and get that out of the photo? Now that it's digitally done instead of using real film, that shouldn't be a problem. Spend the extra bucks on touch for the whole portrait. That should make a big difference.

Isn't this just the way it goes!
We are getting family portraits taken on Sunday. The whole family is getting together to make this happen. We've been planning this for a couple of months now. And we have all been happy we are doing this again. (There are 4 more kids since we got the last one done four years ago!)
So of course, my 4 year old daughter gets a bad sunburn last weekend that resulted in a blister on her cheek. (I know, I know... I DID put sunscreen on her. Multiple times. It was a new bottle of sunscreen and my nieces all got burned too. Don't know if we got a bad batch or if the sun was just extra intense that day or what. I'm a red head, so I am pretty used to sun precautions. Trust me, this was a fluke.)
So now I have a kid with a brand new, pretty polka dotted dress and a beautiful popped blister scabbed on her face.
Keep in mind that the last time we had her pictures professionally done, she ran face first into my fingernail while we were at the studio! So her pictures all had a nice swolen scrape right next to her eye.
So aside from me feeling like I will never be able to have portraits taken of my child without her looking like she's a cage fighter, is there anything I can do to make this go away in three days? Would it be awful to put cover up on my four year old's face? UGH.
Thanks for the suggestions!!
I used Neosporin on her blisters and aloe lotion on the rest of her and she is pretty cleared up! Her face is beautiful again, just some extra freckles now :)
Aaaaaaand cue baby boy falling onto a toy head first and cutting his forhead 24 hours before pictures.
I can't win! lol

It sounds like this will be a group photo, so there is a good opportunity for some 'creative' posing on behalf of the photographer here. She could be turned to her right or left to help detract focus from the blister. Or she could be sitting with her knee up on a stool and her face resting on her hand - with her fingers conveniently covering the blister.
Neosporin will help it heal quicker. And no, coverup is no worse than airbrushing. It's just cheaper! My daughter has to wear makeup every year for dance pictures because the bright lights wash her out so much.
apply neosporin several times a day morning afternoon before bed, keep her out of the direct sun so for she doesn't get worse till after her pics
If the photo is being done professionally they can photoshop and erase the blister scab. If they don't, or no one else in your family has photoshop then add a little makeup for the less than an hour it takes for the photo. ultimatley all those booboos make for family history - and chuckles years from now. My kids are teens and we have a number of photos will scrapes, bandages, weird hairdoos, etc. Also - in the meantime use neosporin on the scab - it's amazing how quickly booboos heal with that stuff!
The studio might be able to airbrush it out? Call and see if they do and how much it would cost. If not, try the make up! or just leave it as a little memory to how much fun you had that day!
This happened when my oldest was 4. THE day before family pics to do for my mom's mother's day present, my daughter got massively attacked by ants and then she ran and fell face-first into an antique metal-bladed lawn cutter. She was swollen from the ants and had a huge black eye from the cutter. Let me tell you how THOSE pics turned out! Lol. Such a memory though.
With blisters, I doubt makeup would make her look any better.
if the blister is actually popped, try neosporin with pain relief, they "claim" it heals in only 2 to 3 days, and it does have antiseptic in it. That and at night load up with aloe gel. Sorry, I am a red head too and got burned this last week. The sun was horrible! UGH! I wouldn't use cover up only because it may make her look dirty if the rest of her skin is pale or if it isn't really blended very well. If you can be sure it is blended very well, then go ahead. Sorry! :( Oh, and DON'T peel it!!
