Hi Moms,
My husband and I have had quite a journey the past two years. We have had no difficulty becoming pregnant three times. However, all three pregnancies resulted in miscarriages between 6 and 9 weeks. I had major testing done after the second miscarriage with negative results on very single test. No one knows what the problem is...On top of that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and had to be off medication throughout this time. My body was becoming so inflamed that I immediately went back on my meds after the third miscarriage started. I am starting to feel better now and want to go to a Reproductive Endochrinologist to hopefully get some answers. Can anyone suggest a doctor or group that has experience with patients with autoimmune diseases like RA and repeated miscarriages? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I would highly recommend the Rinehart Center for Reproductive Medicine. Through them I went thru 3 IVF cycles and had two beautiful children as a result. Dr. Rinehart is fabulous, there is also a Dr Collum there who is a renowned specialist on miscarriages. You can google them to get their contact information. Their staff is excellent, I have nothing but great things to say about every aspect of their operation. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

I'm not sure about a specialist for autoimmune diseases, but I'm going to see Dr. Mary Stephenson at the University of Chicago in November. I have also had repeated miscarriages (after a successful pregnancy). Dr. Stephenson's bio says this is her specialty. She came recommended by a woman who had multiple miscarriages (5 or more) and has now had a successful pregnancy.

Are you sure this is not related to something else? I say this because I had two miscarriages prior to the birth of our daughter. The second miscarriage really threw me because I had all the symptoms but the ultimate ultrasound showed no baby. Anyway, I had undergone hormone treatment for fibroids which were affecting my ability to hold a fetus. My ob-gyn doctor, Dr. Chatman of Northwestern Hospital, was known for his success with women experiencing pregnancy and miscarriage difficulties. Don't give up. Good Luck (I now have four children).

You'll likely want to select a doctor that is close to where you live or work, since you'll probably be spending a lot of time there (it's not uncommon during fertility cycles to make 3 trips in the AM for bloodwork and a transvaginal ultrasound).

I highly recommend Dr. Mary Wood-Molo. Her office is in the Rush Professional Building on Harrison Street, the phone number is ###-###-####, and the website is whcchicago.com.

I would definitely NOT recommend Dr. Norbert Gleicher. If you're curious as to why, send me a PM and I'll be happy to share my awful experience with their Lincoln Park office.
