I loved my combi side by side. A front back would not let you recline both kids well enough to sleep.
I'm currently 5 months pregnant with twins and am looking for a stroller or two for them. I went to BuyBuyBaby yesterday and there are so many different options, it was quite overwhelming. Any recommendations???

IMO Stroller shopping is a bit like car shopping - there's a lot of choices, and what works best for you will depend a bit on where you'll be using your stroller (in and out of the car a lot or just out of your driveway, smooth sidewalks or bumpy ones, etc). For example - when my twins were infants, the grocery store, library, pediatrician's office, and a couple toddler parks were within walking distance of our house so I didn't really need to have a stroller that could hold their infant seats (which was a good thing, because the double snap'n'go hadn't been invented yet and the only strollers that could hold two infant carseats were pretty bulky and heavy). I had a side by side 2001 Combi Twin Savvy which was lightweight and narrow and easy to fold, but they hadn't quite worked out the bugs in the design yet and it broke while under warranty. Replaced it with a secondhand 2001 Maclaren Twin Traveller, which was heavier but super-sturdy - I put several miles a day on that stroller for years and it held up great, and it was narrow enough to fit through every doorway I tried except the exam room at the pediatrician's office.
After you've brainstormed your likes and wants in a stroller, then you can narrow down your list a bit and then go to the store to "test drive" them - check how easy they are to fold and lift (esp. if you'll be taking it in and out of the car a lot).
And if you're not sure yet how much you'll be using your stroller and where, chances are good that the double snap'n'go will serve you well and give you more time to figure out what's important for you in a 'big' stroller. And I second the rec. to check out your local parents of multiples club (http://www.NOMOTC.org can help you find the club nearest you) - chances are good that you can pick up a gently-used secondhand double snap'n'go for a lot less than buying new.
Congrats on your pregnancy!
Double snap-n-go is the best. You won't have to wake your babies if they fall asleep and, while it is a bit like steering a bus because it is long, it worked really well for us until a little over a year when the baby's legs in the back got too long. We then moved to a side-by-side double Aria by Peg Perego that folded up nicely and was a hand me down, but they don't make them like that anymore (it's just 60/40 now and your twins won't go for the unequal size). We now have a Combi Twin Sport and love it. Some people like the City Mini Double, but I found it was HUGE and our girls like to sit more upright to see the world. The snap and go will be SO useful and you'll get a lot of use out of it. Good luck with your twins! We are having so much fun with ours, which makes the difficult first year even more worth it.
Double Snap and Go for when they're in infant seats (you just put the seat right in the stroller frame) and then when they're able to sit on their own, a double Bob Revolution. We had both and LOVED LOVED LOVED them. Plus, they seem to be the most recommended strollers for twins by tons of moms. Are you already a member of a twin website? I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say the name of the really big one on here... so PM me if you'd like it.
PS. I forgot to say... CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy!
I love my combi side by side. It fits through standard doors and can be pushed single handed. It also tri- folds to smaller then most single single strollers.
I'm not sure on all the different brands but my husband who is the picky one had 2 requirements for me when getting ours... 1) it had to be a front and back kind... not one where the kids sit side by side. He was concerned about the width being too wide to navigate through narrow places such as between racks of clothes while shopping and narrow doors. and 2) it had to have good wheels.. he always liked the ones that had the shocks.
may i add one more bit of advice... keep them on the same schedule.. when one wakes in the night, wake the other one up! I know its hard at first to do things two at a time but once you get your "twin hands" worn in, if they arent on the same schedule you will NEVER get a rest!
Hope this helps... congratulations!!
Definitely the double snap and go when they are infants. It is so light. When mine were bigger I had a side by side and loved it. I can't remember the name but it had a huge basket on the bottom and sometimes I would use it for groceries when I didn't need too much. It also had a tray which is a must.
Congratulations on twins! My twin girls are 10 months old and we are having so much fun. We have the Chicco travel system double stroller. We now use it without the carseats and it works great. We also have two umbrella strollers that we use fairly often as well. I know another mom of twins really likes the City Mini Double Stroller, which would obviously be for older babies/toddlers. Congrats and best of luck!
Love Love Love my Bumbleride Indie Twin!! Fits through all doorways, the kids are comfortable, great sunshades and great accessory options! Pushes like a dream over all terrain! I cant say enough good things about it! I found a place online to give me 15% off of it with no tax and free shipping so look around on any stroller before you buy. I think buybuybaby may even allow the 20% off coupon on Bumbleride, not sure tho. They exclude a lot of brands from that coupon.
