I gave birth to our second child 7 months ago. With the second pregnancy I got worse stretchmarks on my lowerstomach. In my both pregnancies I used some oil products from Clarins diligently. It seemed worked with the first pregnancy, but after the second one, the stretchmarks just won't go away. Can anyone suggest something to help me with this? thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all the advice. I;ve been using one of the products suggested, and I'll see whether it will work. it's really encouraging to read that strecthmarks shouldn't be seen as flaws but as a beautymark of childbearing. I should see it that way from now on. thank you again.

There really is nothing you can do to make them go away. They are there forever. However, you can make them lighter by using vitamin E cream.

I have a 7-month-old too! I didn't get any stretchmarks, but I rarely ever used any creams, oils, or lotions when I was pregnant - I didn't like the feeling on my skin. As far as I'm aware, it's all the luck of the draw. You get them or you don't, and if you do, you've gotta hope they fade or help them along with some sort of "procedure."

I have helped men and women with this problem using Pentaxyl®. Even for those who are body builders. Fantastic product. Works faster and better than the Stryvectin does.
With Pentaxyl you no longer have to suffer from embarrassing stretch marks. Pentaxyl is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of stretch marks, safely and effectively. Typically after only four to six weeks the depth of stretch marks is dramatically reduced. Each day the skin will take on a more "lifted" appearance and within four weeks, the radiance will be restored as skin discoloration fades. Over time the skin will be transformed to a more youthful appearance. While nothing can rewind time, Pentaxyl has been shown to restore a beautiful, resilient, flawless skin by fighting against the affects of aging and repairing the damage done by the environment.
To read more, goto: www.perfectinglook.com and put Pentaxyl in the search or look for it in the middle of the page.

What ever you deside, good luck. Let us know what you did and how they worked.

V.! I had my first daughter at 18 and the biggest I told you so was the stretchmarks! The can only get lighter and won't go away. Even with plastic surgery to reduce the saggy skin you might have, there will be discoloration! My advice? Wear them proud! You worked hard for them! And go ahead, wear a two piece on vacation - Photoshop can make you look like a million bucks in the belly!!!!

Boy! I just posted a very similiar issue. First pregnancy, no stretch marks. Now due any day with our second and can you say hello streth marks. I received great suggestions from others. I bought Mederma and cocoa butter with the thinking, what the h***. Any dermatologist will say, they are there to stay, can only lighten them. Here's my conclusion. I had to get over the initial shock, get over my own vanity, admit they suck, and then get over it. I am not up for laser surgery. I can still get my flat stomach back and get back into shape. And when do people really see my stomach, seriously? I am 37 yrs old and belly shirts are not part of my wardrobe and they have tankinis. So when I rub the above cremes all over my ever expanding belly, I bless them and am grateful for this healthy pregnancy and all that God has graced us with.

I used to work at GNC and they always told me to break open vitamin E capsules and rub the liquid on my stretch marks when i got pregnant. I've actually not tried this, what i'm using now is palmer's cocoa butter from walmart. it doesn't take them away but it does help them fade and become less noticable. i'm not very diligent with it either, so maybe if i used it twice a day they wouldn't be there lol who knows, but it seems to work a little :) i have them ALL over my stomach... ick! good luck to you!

Hi V.,
I also have a 2/1/2 child and a 6 month so was wondering if you might be in the New York/Connecticut area? We live in North Stamford, CT. There are lots of stretchmark creams on Skinstore.com...also heard that Strivectin or similar imitation product (cheaper) works well. I have dimpling which I'm annoyed about...I heard endermatic treatments or body wraps might help too. Please email me if you are in the ____@____.com

The Body Shop has a wonderful line of cocoa butter products...two I used religiously during my pregnancy and after are the cocoa butter body butter and moisturizing stick. I was rather enormous with my son and used both products daily and have no stretch marks save two right near the incision from my c section. Palmers also makes a really nice skin firming lotion, which I also use frequently, and it has really helped to. Good Luck! Steph

LOL, you'd think that these babies would be nice to their moms and re-use the stretchmarks that are already there!! Unfortunately not. With all 3 of my boys, my baby tattoos got worse. You can try Mederma and cocoa butter, but your skin may never be the same unless you go and have your tummy tucked or have derma braision. One way you might want to look at them though is this...for 9 months you carried your child in utero...the closest your child will ever be to you physically. Those "baby tattoos" were given to you out of a love so deep and unforgetable. You can look back on them as a beauty mark instead of ugly scars. Scars come from terrible situations, right? Your baby isn't terrible.
