just yesterday i hit 34 wks pregnant and i am very confused...i have had uti with blood in my urine since i started going to the dr. i have also had many braxton hicks since 5 months pregnant. and my problems is just a few minutes ago i urinated and noticed in the toilet a brown reddish color it wasnt thick like a mucos plug it looked like a weird spot of urine like oil would in water and wen i wiped there was abosulety nothing on the toilet paper...so i have no idea wat it could have been. there was no type of pain or discomfort while urinating and my next appt is on the 30th...does anyone know what that could be and should i call the dr to be seen sooner. ive never seen this before and am really concerned.

What can I do next?

I second other mom's advice-- you should see your doctor.
Also, are you sure you're drinking enough water? UTIs and pre-term labor can all be exacerbated by dehydration. It's really hard to stay well hydrated when it's been so hot, but keep drinking-- more than you think you want.
Also, the same company that sells "Emergen-C" also makes an electrolyte packet. For a small price, you just empty the packet into a liter of water and you have instant gatorade without the sugar, artificial colors, and expense. It's especially important to consider something like this during heat waves when you may be sweating a lot and losing salt and minerals. If this idea doesn't appeal to you you can also try diluting fruit juice with water. When I was pregnant last summer I started drinking apple juice (relatively low sugar content) and water mixed 50/50. It's surprisingly refreshing and I still go for this today.
Take care of yourself and good luck!
A.

Hi,

If you are concerned, call the doctor and ask them. I am not sure. But it is better to be on the safe side and find out. Good luck!

Have you eaten any beets lately. They make you pee pinkish-reddish. Depending on how many you ate. Will also color poop- pink-red. Not to fear the beet has a color composition to it when being excreted.
Hope it is as simple as this.
GOOD LUCK

My friend had brown reddish spotting off and on during the last few weeks of her pregnancy. She wore a panty liner. She is a doctor herself and said that is normal. However, I'd call my doctor and ask about it just to be sure.

Red brown sounds like blood. You should see your doctor sooner, since you have been experiencing difficulties with infection.
