Hi Mommas,
I am reaching out to see if anyone's had a similar issue. I had the Essure procedure done (less invasive form of female sterilization) back in Sept. You have to wait 3 months and go back fora dye test to make sure your tubes are blocked which I did in December and the procedure worked successfully. I stopped taking my birth control the day I found out that I was good to go. I have since then been having really heavy menstrual bleeding and cramping. Has anyone else stopped the pill and had a few horrible periods and then they seem to get better or has it just always been heavy and miserable?? I know my body has to get used to no longer being on a regimen schedule from the pill but I am hoping this is just a temporary thing and my periods will get better. Also, has anyone had the Nova Sure procedure done? It's to help w/ heavy menstrual bleeding? If so, what were your results? Thanks :)

What can I do next?

I had the procedure done over seven years now. for most of the first year, i had very heavy bleeding. i thought that something was wrong. but eventually it settled down and now my periods are normal.

I can't speak on the Essure procedure but my doctor did tell me that when you have you tubes tied and go off the pill, cramping does tend to be more severe and bleeding heavier. I have found it to be very true...especially the cramping the day before and for the first two days of my period.

I always got heavy periods after going off birth control pills.

When I looked into Essure I kind of mentioned I hate periods. The doctor told me Essure isn't right for me then. I will still have periods and in some cases they get worse. :( If I had gone ahead I would have probably gone with a procedure that kept the periods the same as I am already experiencing.
